Excessively sweaty bum crack. Fit, Healthy and young. Huh?

21 yo white male, 74kgs, I work out. Eat healthy. since about 13 years of age I will sometimes randomly sweat on the upper part of my bum crack, sometimes cheeks too. I can 100% tell its just sweat. As far as I can tell its not related to stress or what I eat or drink. A few times I've stripped off to jump into the shower and my crack is literally dripping with sweat. Ive had a blood test. Thyroids fine. I've tried talcum powder, Neat 3B Action Cream and Driclor none have helped at all.

Botox may not completely stop the sweating, but can help reduce it. To get the best results, the area needs to be assessed in order to target the treatment area.

Botox will most likely be able to help. I would recommend coming in for a consult to determine exactly where you are sweating from to inject you in the correct area.

Dear Sweata69,

I am very sorry to hear the problem that you have been suffering for many years now. Hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating) is something that can be helped by Botulinim Toxin A injections - this should give you 3-6 months relief. You should also explore the more simple and cheaper options, namely:
1) Avoid wearing underwear and tops made from man-made materials (e.g. Nylon). Instead wear natural fibre fabrics such as cotton & linen. These allow your skin to breathe ad sweat to evaporate. 
2) Try using roll-on (or aerosol) anti-perspirants in the vicinity
Always seek the advice, examination and any possible treatment from someone experienced in this condition and make sure they are Board certified.

Hello Sweata69, it must be really bothersome taking multiple showers because this. In the past, patients were referred to surgeons to undergo an invasive procedure known as a lumbar sympathectomy where they go in surgically and interrupt your sympathetic nerves that are responsible for controlling the automatic functions like your body's skin temperature and sweating. This has quickly fallen out of fashion now that people use Botox to treat this condition. Botox is approved for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) in the underarms,  lower back, buttocks, groin and inner thighs. If you are in an area with experts in hyperhidrosis, you can seek their opinion about getting injected. The dose is usually greater than that people use for their wrinkles and face (>150-200 units) 
you should get good results that may last up to 4 to 6 months. Hope this helps.
