8 months post op, I have pain after wearing underwire bra. Is this normal? (photos)

Underwire bras often cause pain when not fitted properly. It doesn't necessarily mean that this rid a problem. You may want to switch to wireless and if you are very concerned, please see your surgeon.

Having pain with wearing an underwire bra doesn't indicate that something is wrong. The bra is probably just hitting you in a spot that is sensitive. Has your surgeon recommended you to wear only underwire?  If not you may want to try a bunch of different style support bras and see what suits you best. There is a bra line by Mentor that is specifically made for women with Breast Augmentation called Le Mystere. You might want to try that out.All the best to you.

Some women remain quite sensitive under the breasts for many months following surgery and underwire bra's can be expected to irritate stitch lines.  I tell my patients to avoid underwire bra's for at least 9 months.  You may need a little more time before you will be able to tolerate underwire bra's comfortably.  Some of my patients prefer the look of underwire bras without the underwire so they make a tiny incision and ease the wire out of the bra!  If you continue to feel discomfort or have ongoing concerns you should schedule a review with your surgeon.
