At 62, wearing a 36G, a breast reduction has been a dream for 25+ years. I am now a C cup. I wish I knew that side boob would still be an issue and how my stomach pooch is now visibly more pronounced. I feel like a flat chested fat girl. I didn't realize the negatives that come with the positive. Yes, it was worth it, but I wish someone would have told me about the negatives.
Just had a consultation with Dr. Murphy and honestly he’s great. He’s given me another reason to sit back and really think everything I want done through. Definitely can’t wait to figure out what I’m gonna do and schedule.
Couldn't be happier with going with Dr. Murphy for my breast augmentation. I am 5'8 150lbs and went with 560cc. I am 5 weeks post op and everything is healing nicely, the implants have stated to drop and they look natural. Now that I am used to them I almost wish I went bigger! Haha. From the beginning I trusted Dr. Murphy, you select implants by looking at photos and he selects the size that's best for your frame. He brings a range of implant sizes into the operating room which I think is great. He is friendly and makes you feel comfortable, as well as the rest of his staff who are warm and welcoming. Updated on 13 Apr 2020: Super happy with how everything turned out. Minimal scarring under the breast. Updated on 13 Apr 2020: Size 34B before surgery
I had my initial consult with Dr Murphy 1 week ago on 10/23 and I’m scheduled for my BA on 11/7. I’m 45 and I’ve had 2 children. My youngest is 11 years old and my oldest is 15. I’ve lost 36 pounds over the past few years and my breasts are deflated. I’m ready to bring my sexy back! I’m newly married (14 months) and my husband and I are on a fitness journey and a journey to have a long happy life together while looking the best we can. I’m a small B at this point and wanting to be a full C. I’m getting gel implants but that’s all I know at this point. Looking for a surgery buddy if possible.
Hi! I am 21 years old, 5'4, and weigh 155 lbs. I will be getting Smart Lipo on my full abdomen, flanks, love handles, and bra fat rolls. For all my life I have been insecure about my body. Even at my skinniest at 120 lbs, I had a lower belly and love handles that wouldn't budge. Growing older, I have gained weight and even with dieting, exercising, I've been at the same weight for about a year. I'm tired of not enjoying myself in public because I feel so gross, or not even letting my fiancé see me naked. My Smart Lipo procedure is booked in 2 separate days, abdomen on July 18, and full back on July 25. My goals are to look not as pudgy, id like a more feminine shape to my back as I feel so boxy. Join me on my journey !!! Updated on 18 Jul 2019: Hey all, so today I got my liposuction on my abdomen! It started by me arriving early to take Percocet, Xanax, and a antibiotic. After getting loopy, the doctor came in and drew on my abdomen and reached as far as the sides of my abdomen. So once we got situated and it was time to start, he first created incision holes, not sure how many maybe 6? Then he used a cannula to numb the areas and oh my gosh this was the worst part. I was definitely throwing a few F bombs during this part. After a while of torture he competed the numbing process and we waiting a while to take in effect. Then the rest was easy. He first used something to break down the fat, and then another cannula to suck the fat away. This didn’t hurt except a few stings once in a while. Felt like a massage. He then stiched up the holes which I also didn’t feel. After finishing, the process took only 2 hours. We got me into a compression suit and I was on my way home! I was pretty light headed and dizzy after the procedure but eating light snacks helped a lot. When I got home I took a 2 hour nap whoch got rid of the dizziness. So far I’ve been able to get up, walk, and do everything as normal. I did have some pain but just took some pain medicine and now I feel fine. Will keep you updated on the rest of recovery ! Updated on 20 Jul 2019: So after coming home from my surgery I felt great! And then I went to bed and woke up at 3 am with intense pain which followed half of day 2. I guess the numbing solution wore off lol. It is now day 3 and I was finally able to remove the garment to shower. I had foam under the compression garment which added to a lot of discomfort I’ve been having so its nice to be free. But wowza I am extremely swollen, but I can see immediate results! I’m already 2.5 inches off of my waist. Updated on 20 Jul 2019: Updated on 24 Jul 2019: Swelling and bruising in my pubic has greatly reduced. Still a battle with the compression garment and being uncomfortable all day. Getting ready to do my second round of lipo on my back tomorrow ! Updated on 24 Jul 2019: Honestly can’t believe my eyes ! Updated on 27 Jul 2019: Had the rest of my lipo on my flanks, love handles, lower and upper back. I’m pretty swollen and bruised near my armpits and my lower back but it’s already quickly going down! The doc also fixed a cellulite I had on my butt cheek which was a great plus. I am very happy with the results so far even with being so swollen and bruised! He took off 3 pounds from the love handles and I believe 1 or 2 from the upper back. Updated on 28 Jul 2019: Updated on 29 Jul 2019:
Ever since I was little I was waiting and waiting for that puberty butterfly to “ poof” and give me boobs. Well.. that never happened, so when I finished school and got married decided it was time. Stats- Age: 26 Height: 5’6” Weight: 120 Bra size : barely 32b Children: No During preop appointment I wanted a very natural larger cup between a large c and small d. Doctor decided the appropriate cc’s would be between 480-550. He also stated my breast’s were pretty symmetrical but I did have some chest wall protrusion. So the implant would help with that. Updated on 14 May 2018: My surgery went very well, I remember being in recovery with a bit of pain and I was freezing!!! So they warmed me up with blankets and was given Oxycodone 5mg twice and 25 mcg of fentanyl after these medications were administered I was feeling really great. The nurses were all surprised with how well I was doing after my surgery and so was my husband. Still lots of pressure on my chest. I was in a surgical bra and had an ace bandage wrapped tightly around. This was to stay for 48 hours then I could shower and start with the boob band. #1 thing to remember is stay on top of the pain. I set alarms every 3.5-4 hours to take my next pain pill which was needed. Updated on 14 May 2018: Kinda weird, in my upper breast are and below my breasts near my ribs if I press on the skin there is a sloshing water sound and sensation. My doctor told me that this was totally ok this was left over liquid from the pockets and the liquids would get absorbed through out the next couple of weeks. Updated on 14 May 2018: Kind of odd, in my upper breast ares, and the lower portion my breast over my ribs there is an odd sensation and sound of water squishing around under my skin. I spoke to my doctor and he said this was totally ok just left over fluid and air from the surgery that would get absorbed over the next couple of days. Updated on 14 May 2018: Ive made it to day three and Ive been doing really well, I am a very independent person, so its difficult for me to ask for assistance. Ive been taking it easy, using my boob band and icing, still on some pain medications but not as often. Im taking arnica pellets and cream. I have noticed sternal swelling and my worry wart(ness) is coming out and Im worried about symmastia. The implants haven't conjoined in the same pocket I don't think just swollen in the middle. From everything I've read it doesn't seem like symmastia. Breast are still hard and stiff, shiny, swollen. Can't wait till they drop and fluff out. Updated on 14 May 2018: Here are some of the wish boobs that I saw and showed my doctor Updated on 16 May 2018: Had some fun with my sister in law trying on my old bralettes and they still fit just so much better now!! So much bloating tho. Gravity is weird when I stand up, it feels like my boobs are going to slide off!! No real pain just some discomfort when I wear the bra band Updated on 18 May 2018: Keep getting discouraged I am not a person to sit and do nothing. I keep trying to lay low but I end up doing some choirs here and there which is making me wake up the following morning with much more tightness is my chest. My husband keeps getting on me about my activity levels. I have my first post op appt on Monday in three days where I will learn my massages. I was told not to massage until my first post op appt. I’ve been doing very light upper breast massaging to help allegivate the tightness and it helps so much. Cant wait till I get the green light so these hard right rocks on my chest settle down and soften out. Trying to wear the boob band as much as possible too. Even though I’m griping I’m still in love just eager to heal. Updated on 19 May 2018: Looking amazing. Some nipple sensitivity and tightness in chest. Ice is working GREAT to help with swelling and tightness. Updated on 21 May 2018: He my first post op appt. 10 days post op. Dr is very pleased with they so far. He says I’m ahead of the curve. The only exercise he wants me doing right or is pressing HARD on the top of my implant so it feels like it’s going to pop out the incision 10 times a day on top of wearing my band as much as possible. Got cleared for almost all activity just no bench press or lots of pectoral pressure. Also I got to look at my incisions which they covered back up. He wants them covered for the first month then I will start the scar treatment which he didn’t even say he thought I needed. Updated on 21 May 2018: Still VERY swollen but got excited!! Went twice and got measured at a 28 DDD which they said would be a 32 DDD. ???????? Updated on 28 May 2018: Everyday I feel better. Still can do pull ups or push up nor have a tried but each day I feel myself healing more and more. Almost all discomfort , tightness and pain is gone. The left side is very sensitive and the right is pretty numb. Updated on 29 May 2018: Just wanted to go over my stats again: Age: 25 Preop bra size: 32 barely b Kids: No Body type: Athletic build Height: 5’5” Weight: 120lbs Surgery date 5/11/18 Implant 520 cc round smooth cohesive silicone Under the muscle Moderate profile Under the breast incision Updated on 1 Jun 2018: I’ve made it three weeks. Everyday I notice them dropping more and more and it’s becoming easier to do everyday strenuous things Updated on 2 Jun 2018: Looking over pics at a wedding I went to tonight and I am so ecstatic with my boobs ?? I wore a beautiful strappy dress that I would have normally wouldn’t have due to me looking flat chested or worried about what kind of bra to wear. Not an issue anymore!! No bra and definitely not flat chested. They are still sitting high but not obnoxious cleavage. Best purchase ever!! I got a lot of compliments tonight as well on my surgery. Updated on 12 Jun 2018: I’ve made it a month. Absolutely the best purchase ever!! So happy with my boobs!! They are getting so squishy and dropping more. Still pretty high. I can actually push my breast together now and they hang a little when I bend over. And jiggle. Still don’t feel like normal boobs. Idk if they ever will or not but they still have some softening to do. I edited the lighting of my pictures a little to see the scars more and to fix the lighting. Updated on 27 Jun 2018: They are so perfect. Just a little update. Almost 1.5 months. Updated on 4 Jul 2018: Since it’s summer I get to show off my Tatas more. The top I am wearing: xl full tilt from tillys, bottoms : are xs Victoria’s Secret, from a couple of years ago which by the way I am very disappointed in vs swim collection this year : ( Very soft. I still feel like they will drop a touch more but if they don’t I wouldn’t be upset. I had very perky boobs before so I wouldn’t be surprised if they stayed like this. Odd this is, I STILL feel some sloshing when I’m doing certain things. Like yesterday I reached over and grabbed a laundry basket and felt it. Weird. I’ve been extremely busy so I haven’t gone back for my month appt and it’s been almost two months. Oops. I know I know. I need to. But everything had been perfect ???? Updated on 22 Jul 2018: I started working out a ton I had already had a go ahead to use all upper body mobility but once I had started working out I had noticed some soreness in my left breast. I had decreased my upper body work out until my next post op appointment Dr. Murphy inspected them and told me that I still had to go ahead and I can do pretty much whatever I had wanted to everything looked great and it was just my muscle being sore from not being used that much which I was very excited about. My postop appointment was on Wednesday and I have worked out four times since then and all have been good. He just told me that I should watch out if there was any significant swelling or extremely excessive pain and if whatever reason I can’t move my implant up in the pocket to let him know. He gave me the go ahead to come back in a couple months too. One thing that surprised me is that he took post up pictures he said he was extremely impressed with my progress and took pictures which from what I’ve seen on his website the pictures aren’t normally until 3 to 6 Months afterwards and I am just at two months he called them “Internet boobs” and asked me if it be OK if I put them on his website, which I totally am. Updated on 18 Sep 2018: Quick update. I have zero issues, no pain. I can lie on my stomach, workout, weight lift. My skin sensitivity has almost all gone away. Feel and look incredibly real. Best purchase ever. Updated on 18 Sep 2018: Like Dr Murphy told me he wanted to place my results on his website. The “after” picture is 10 weeks post op. Updated on 27 Aug 2019: They are fantastic. Love them. Only negative I can say is I do have some rippling. That is only if I am leaning over with my arms out. Other than that perfect
I am done having children so I have been working out and getting into great shape. Too bad my boobs are tiny and sad. I’m an active athletic type so I don’t want giant Ds. Hoping in the range of 350-400cc. And I also don’t want them to scream “Fake”! I have a three consults lined up. I really liked my first one but he doesn’t do sizers. Hoping next week I can actually picture what I would look like with one on. Updated on 7 Mar 2018: So after going to 3 different consultants in Reno - Murphy, Dahan and Janiga, I decided to go with Murphy. He is KNOWN for being the big boob guy but I like how his work looks and he's been the boob dude for a while. And you know when you speak with someone and it just.... Works? I felt very comfortable with him and he made sure to emphasize that he will do whatever I wanted. I did 350cc sizers at Dahan. It looked alright. I did 3D imaging at Janiga (which are the pictures attached) Dahan - the overall appointment was a little...strange? He didn't really go over risks and he seemed rushed and... idk. I just didn't like the vibe. Especially when I was in the waiting room and the front desk girl was meh, and a guy kept speaking LOUDLY on his phone about his work 6 feet from me. It started off on a bad foot. Janiga - He was awesome! He really knows his stuff. He explained everything to me VERY well and the whole experience was amazing. The 3D imaging was top notch. This was a tough decision between Murphy and Janiga... But my gut said to go with Murphy. So I did. I am 5'7" 130lbs. I breastfed two boys. The last time my baby breastfed was November 2017. My little boobs are deflated and not too saggy so I just want a fill up. Hopefully to a full C small D. That's about how big I got while breastfeeding. I am very athletic so I am not looking to get giant boobs. I don't want to strap them down to do my usual stuff. My left side is estimated to have about 30cc more tissue. So I'll have different sizes in each, but I'm hoping for the range of 375-400cc. Updated on 15 Mar 2018: Gosh, I keep hearing/reading about the size regret that women have once the new boobs settle. BUT I want to be able to run and play sports without the use of two sports bras. 375cc - 425cc is what I’m thinking. I’m not staying with much so this should be an okay size... not giant. 6 more weeks! Updated on 21 Mar 2018: I'm going to Coachella a couple weeks before my BA. No Advil for headaches and I will try not to beat my body up too much while I'm there. Wish I could have had new boobies for this trip but the decision to schedule my BA came quickly and it was past the point of being able to schedule a good amount of time before the festival. Pre Op on 4/18! Updated on 25 Mar 2018: Here are some before pictures of what I’m working with. 5 weeks until the BA! Updated on 18 Apr 2018: Hey y’all. Had my pre-op today. Decided I do want to stay on the smaller side and not have a giant D cup. He will be taking in 3 sizes. 400cc, 440cc & 480cc. 480 scares me, but he said 40cc aren’t that much and if it was the difference between leaving a gap between the boobs or not filling my chest out well, he rather have the option to put in a little bigger size to do the job. CCs are the same as mL. I work in a lab and I use beakers and such, I’ve been eyeing mLs like crazy thing of the shear volume that will be entering my boob space. So here we are. 9 days from surgery. I filled my Rx and I just have to go pick them up, got some ensure, laxatives, and vitamins. Let’s hope for the best! Updated on 23 Apr 2018: Can’t stop looking at all the RealSelf posts. Hoping my and PS choice of moderate profile is the right decision. Got my prescriptions, Ensure, vitamins, stool softeners, wrap and easy to eat foods all ready to go. Nervous yet excited! Updated on 25 Apr 2018: Went to the hospital and got pre-admitted and paid my dues. No blood work since I’ve never had an issue with anemia or other issues in general. All set for Friday. I’ll check in at 7:30am! Updated on 27 Apr 2018: As chairwoman of the itty bitty [RS bleep] committee. Checked in a little early. Surgery in an hour. See y’all on the other side! Updated on 27 Apr 2018: Stats: 29, 5’7”, 130lbs, breastfed 2, athletic build. Boobs: 34a/b Implant: Inspira SRM 485, inframammary, submuscular. Checked in at 6:45 (I got there super early) surgery at 8:30. He said he brought a whole suitcase of boobs for me to make sure he gets what look I’m going for in there. He called my husband and said he went with the 485cc. Holy cow. They don’t feel/look ginormous to me. Hopefully once the swelling and d&f happens, it’ll be a good size. I came out of anesthesia pretty smoothly. I was talking with the nurses and laughing with them and got picked up soon after. The opioid meds they gave me via IV made me throw up a few times even with the anti nausea meds. Yuck! I hate pain meds Home now. Sitting on the recliner watching TV. I don’t feel too bad. Updated on 28 Apr 2018: Yesterday was a little rough. Pain wasn’t too bad, it was the nausea that was horrible. I threw up a few times. I can only take 1/2 a pill of Percocet every 4-5 hours. I started my antibiotics today also. I took my wrap and bra off to take pics. They are high and tight. They don’t project as much as I thought they would but that’s probably because they’re moderate profile. The PS called my husband to pick me up and said he put 485cc in there. In my head I’m like.... did he say 485 or 405? I DON’T KNOW!!! They don’t seem as big as what I thought 486 wold feel like. Been icing them on and off and relaxing. I feel totally fine today. Just a little sore but I feel good. Updated on 29 Apr 2018: Stats: 29, 5’7”, 130lbs, 34a/b, breastfed 2 Implant: Inspira SRM 485, inframammary, submuscular Overall, I feel great. I have to remind myself to take it easy and not lift things. I can probably stop taking the Percocet today and switch to Tylenol. I’m on antibiotics for a week since yesterday. Sleeping at a 45 degree angle was better last night. Icing the girls have helped the swelling. Wearing a band and no bra to help push them down as recommended by my PS. I took my first shower and removed the foam tape. The girls are up high but I can see where they will fall. The incisions don’t hurt. So far so good and I’m happy with my decision. They seem really big right now, but as the swelling subsided and they drop, I think they will be perfect. Updated on 30 Apr 2018: Feeling pretty good. Just tired... having children around doesn’t let me relax and take it easy much. They seem so big without clothes, but with a shirt on, they seem totally normal. I’m only wearing a band on top to help push them down. Updated on 7 May 2018: PostOp was today. Everything is looking fine. I learned how to push down to help the implant move into the pocket. I got my implant cards and it said 445cc. I was like.... whaaaaat? The Dr. came in and told me he must have misspoke on the phone. He just knew he put the size that looked the best in and stuck the stickers on the card and moved on. I am really happy with how they look, so whatever! There is a tightness in my pectorals when I do too much around the house or when I am sitting and reaching over and over for work. I also get a rib pain, or a side ache when I sit all day and reach around for stuff at work. Other than that, I feel great. Physically and mentally with my choice to do this. I feel so feminine now. I look in the mirror like, "hey girl..." haha I have another post op in a month. I will post pictures in my next post. Updated on 7 May 2018: Here are some pictures from the past couple days Updated on 10 May 2018: Looking good. They get a little sore when I do too much. Doc gave me a bunch of steri strips. Once they heal, I have silicone scar sheets to place on them. Updated on 21 May 2018: I feel great. I want to workout my upper body so badly! Went and bought a ‘sexy’ boob shirt. It’s so wild being able to wear one like this. Waiting for them to drop is nerve wracking. I know full results aren’t for another couple months, but they seem like they’re so high still. Wearing the strap all the time and doing my push down exercises as much as I can’t remember to do them. Updated on 2 Jun 2018: They’re still so high. The lighting in this picture really shows where they’re at right now. Getting softer but the drop down process feels so sloooooooow. Updated on 3 Jun 2018: You can see that my left has dropped more than my right. I am right handed and I heard that could be a factor. They look GREAT when I wear clothes. I wear a 34D at VS, but I was between a D & a DD but settled for a D. Updated on 6 Jun 2018: Not like a small man with muscles. Lol This is a VS pink bra Size M Updated on 19 Jun 2018: Just an update with some pictures. They are dropping a bit and getting softer. The left one is definitely softer than the right. Feeling better and better. It's crazy how if the upper pole goes down by .5 cm you can tell. Updated on 5 Jul 2018: Feeling good about the progress. Right side is still tight. Waiting for the D&F still.
46 one, child age 17, massage weight loss 5 years ago, 310lb to 165lb, insurance paid due to it being medically necessary, I had to work with insurance copy after Dr. Murphy did his medical request. It was a fight and I won. One day surgery. He didn't mark me up but the OR staff at the surgery center said that's his thing. "If they had to choose at doctor they would choose him because his work is great. It made me comfortable. I had swelling, compression garment, and pain pills. My top complaints are swelling, finding the right compression garment for daily wear, and pain pill side effects. Updated on 16 May 2017: Week 3 still swollen but scarp is healed
I've only had 1 consult so far with Dr. Murphy on Feb. 13th and the whole experience was amazing! He made me feel extremely comfortable, he went over all the risks and different choices. We are going with a silicone implant under the muscle and he listened to the goals I want to achieve and he feels confident we can achieve them :) so I'm extremely pleased and ready for surgery! Updated on 11 Mar 2017: After pregnancy, nursing and pumping for 2 years all together my breasts were deflated and sagging. I wanted very large but natural looking breasts like they were when I was pregnant and nursing. I was a DDD at my largest during my first pregnancy so my surgeon and I decided on a range of 600cc-750cc implants and he would use a sizer during surgery to find the right size to fit my body frame. Today was surgery and the staff, nurses, anesthesiologist and my surgeon were completely amazing and made me feel comfortable and safe. I got 745cc Silicone implants under the muscle and I am so pleased and excited to see them once they settle because they already look fabulous?? Updated on 14 Mar 2017: Had my first post op appointment today. Dr. Murphy removed the bandages, tape, surgical bra and drains and I felt 80% better after pain wise. The drains were causing me a lot of discomfort so to have them finally removed feels amazing. Now I am to start massaging them gently, go braless and wear the strap across my chest to help the implants settle. I've very pleased with my progress so far. Updated on 17 Mar 2017: I am 6 days PO from getting 745cc HP Silicone implants under the muscle. I am still quite sore and still get tired easily. I did go back to work today for a couple hours and that completely zapped my energy and now I'm pretty swollen and sore so I'm home resting now. But getting up this morning to ready was amazing! To get dressed and finally feel confident and sexy in simple clothes made me feel so good about myself. It has been so long since I felt comfortable wearing shirts/tops so it was an amazing moment for me this morning that definitely boosted my self confidence. Finally finding a surgeon I was comfortable with and having surgery was the best thing I have ever done for myself!! Updated on 17 Mar 2017: I'm 1 week post op and finally starting to feel normal. I'm totally in love with my new twins! Updated on 11 May 2017: Updated on 26 Jun 2017: Doc performed a capsulectomy and implant exchange. Went from 745cc full profile silicone under the muscle to 800cc ultra full profile silicone unders. I am beyond pleased with my results! Dr. Murphy is amazing and I'm completely in love with how natural they look and feel.
Pre-op scheduled for 10/12! I'm a 33 year old mama of 2, whose boobies got put through the wringer while nursing! I've got a petite frame (5'1", 100lbs, 26" under bust) and am currently a 30C/32B, but with minimal breast tissue and enlarged areola. After SEVERAL consults, I have decided to go with Dr James Murphy for a Benelli lift and small implant; my goal being a perky, full C cup. I have read SO many mixed reviews on this procedure, but my nipple placement is acceptable (pseudoptosis), so a full lift isn't required - BUT I *really* would like my areola to be reduced. I'm just going to cross my fingers that my body responds favorably! Updated on 14 Oct 2016: I had my pre-op on Wednesday, and am left feeling a bit nervous. Dr. Murphy has suggested Natrelle style 10 implants, and stated that he would order the 240-270-300 range of sizes, as they are smaller than what he has in stock. No measurements were taken (they may have been taken at my consult last year?)...no sizers placed...no Vectra scanning. While I REALLY like his work, I was expecting a bit more than just taking"before photos" and forking over my $. I did share a couple of my wish pictures with him, and stressed that I don't want to be large chested; I just want to regain the fullness that was lost from pregnancy and breastfeeding. I was a bit surprised with his decision to use the lower profile implants with my frame being the size it is. I think that both the 270 and 300 cc implants are greater in diameter than my BWD (by less than a cm, but it seems that this is a less popular approach. I'm nervous that I may have too much side boob, potential rippling, and too flat a profile if the larger implants are required to fill out my saggy booby skin. I know it's probably just me being neurotic, but I decided to call their office this morning to discuss the benefits of low (style 10) vs mod (style 15) profiles. I told her I trust the doctor's opinion, but I wanted him to be aware that if larger implants are required, I'd prefer greater than ideal projection vs width. The coordinator said she'd discuss with the physician and get back to me. I just want to make sure there is time to order additional implants, if we decide to change the profile! I made myself some 200ish cc chia seed sizers in snack sized ziplock baggies, and am happy with the size in a bra, and under tops. I'm crossing my fingers that the 240cc implants fit my breast envelope/remaining skin, and all of this worrying will have been for nothing! Updated on 24 Oct 2016: I had 300cc Allergan Style 10 moderate projection implants placed sub-muscularly last Thursday. The procedure went well, other than the fact that I was a bit of a bleeder, and required drains. I was sent home mummy-wrapped and advised to leave my goods intact until my follow up appointment today. The pain's been completely manageable with somewhat regular med dosing (Percocet every 4-8 hours) on days 1-3; I'm off all pain meds as of this morning. I honestly think the tummy bloat may be the most uncomfortable bit at this point! My post-op went well today. Drains were removed, along with my foam tape. Now I've just got my steri-strips and band aids on my incisions. I am so happy with the outcome thus far! Fingers crossed that the incisions look as good as the rest of my breasts at their reveal next Monday! *its amazing to me how much more noticeable my stretch marks are now that my breasts have been re-filled...maybe some of it is the lighting? Updated on 31 Oct 2016: I had my second post-op appt. today. Dr. Murphy has such a wonderful bedside manner. I am so happy to have chosen him for my procedure! Tape came off for a few minutes, and I snapped a quick photo...still a bit of bruising, and the areolar incisions are scary (though VERY well approximated). I feel well for the most part. It's been a bit of a roller coaster in terms of discomfort and energy level. Some days I feel near normal, and others, I feel almost as if I'm catching the flu: sore, with chills and just super sleepy. I'm hoping those days are behind me! I've been given clearance to resume all of my normal daily activities...just no strenuous chest workouts. Life is good! Updated on 10 Nov 2016: Healing is going well. I'm keeping my incisions taped to try and minimize scarring, but the wounds look great and my pain has resolved for the most part. I'm back to all of my regular activities, which feels SO good! Went on a three mile hike last weekend, and felt SUCH a mood improvement from the exercise and fresh air. I've still got some yellow bruising around the areola on my right breast. There is a also a bit of areolar asymmetry between the two girls...I'm hoping that if there's bruising, there is swelling; meaning that there's decent potential for me to own two boobies that look similar when healed. While I think that my implants are in the correct position on my chest now (I can feel the implant at the bottom of my breasts when doing my massage), I'm waiting for my lower pole to fill out a bit more (fluff?). My PS was adamant about using moderate profile implants, and there's a piece of me that's still a bit nervous that my final outcome may be have a bit more side boob and less projection than I was hoping for. I am 110% happy with my size, it's just that the shape seems a bit strange (I do realize that there much time for this to change...trying not to worry myself over it). ...all of this recovery stuff sure is stressful! Updated on 21 Nov 2016: ...and the holiday season is now upon us, eek! I've got a weekend in Vegas planned for early December, and it's been super fun trying on cocktail dresses and swimwear! I'm just hoping to get hot-tub clearance from my PS at my 6 week post-op! I'm a bit rashy from the paper tape and have given my incisions a break from it the past 48 hours. My boobie pleats are a bit less prominent now, and the scarring is looking pretty good! My only real boob-complaint, at the moment, is that I CAN NOT find a "real" bra that fits. I've got cute bralettes, and have a couple of fun sports bras, but i want a bra that's got a bit of shape and shows off the goods! The closest thing I've found was a Natori "feathers" bra, but I had some boob spillage out of the 30DD, and couldn't find a 30DDD to try on. I really need a 28 band anyway (my underbust is only 26 inches), which I can't find locally...do any of my fellow petite ladies have any suggestions? Updated on 18 Dec 2016: ...and not too much to report. My left breast seems to be settling a bit more than the right. It's not tremendously noticable unless my arms are raised. I would say that the post-op discomfort has resolved about 95%; I still have tenderness around the borders of my areola (perhaps due to the permanent sutures), but my crease incisions are now pain-free. I've bought a few new underwire bras (30DDD and 28F) that seem to fit okay, but they aren't super comfy for all day wear. While I know it can't really prevent bottoming out, I feel that my breast creases are better supported in underwire. Just (impatiently) waiting for the scarring to mature at this point. It's funny how small my boobs seem to look in photos...they seem so much bigger irl! Updated on 20 Jan 2017: The girls are officially three months old; for the most part, I like them. There are days where I look in the mirror and question whether I ought to have gone with a "stronger" lift, or had a less-wide, more-projected implant placed (and there is a minor dent on my lefty), but I'm probably just being overcritical. Must repeat the mantra: perfect is the enemy of good. Good is exactly that: GOOD! I am SO greatful for the tremendous improvement to my shape! At 3 months, I've got tenderness around both of my areola, as well as occasional left underboob soreness, but nothing I would classify as pain. I do believe that the healing process is pretty near over. My scars are doing well (in spite of the fact that I haven't been applying anything to them). My IMF scars are still red, but completely flat, and my lift scars are nearly invisible, though I've still got some slight pleating. All in all, I am happy with my outcome, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the procedure to anyone who's considering it! Updated on 1 Mar 2017: All is well. I am still very happy with my decision to have the procedure, and with my choice in surgeon! The boobs don't seem to be changing much these days, which is fine by me. Puckering is continuing to improve, and the scarring isn't nearly as noticeable as I was anticipating. Yay! Updated on 6 Apr 2017: Seeing as plastic surgeons generally say, "final results can be seen between 3-6 months," I figured I should post my *final* result. Not much has changed in the past couple of months. My implants are rather palpable at the bottom of my breasts, but there isn't much in the way of visible rippling (very glad my PS recommended silicone!). My lefty is a bit more lateral than the right (and still has a couple of dents from the lift), but overall symmetry is pretty good. Aside from the scars, and muscle distortion with pectoral flexing, they look like natural boobs. They're squishable, and have decent "bounce" as well. ...still a happy camper here! Updated on 2 Jul 2017: Before and 8 months post procedure...quite a difference!!! Updated on 28 Oct 2017: The girls just celebrated their first birthday. It's been nothing but smooth sailing. I am still really happy with my decision to repair my ta-tas. I continue to have anxiety about the possibility of capsular contracture, or bottoming out at some point...but that's just me being neurotic. My 300cc implants added almost three inches to my bustling, putting me a lot closer to the "hourglass figure" that I was looking for. My measurements are currently 33-23.5-35. Having curves has definitely made it a bit easier to shop! I know you can't purchase self-esteem, but I was SO disgusted with my boobs, that it negatively impacted my sexuality. It feels awesome to be comfortable in my skin...I know that we're all supposed to love ourselves for our insides, and be appreciative of our bodies for the awesome work they do/have done (I AM grateful that my body grew and nourished my babies), BUT I wanted pretty boobs, dammit ????. They aren't perfect, but they're soft, squishy, and perky-so I won't complain! Updated on 1 Nov 2018: ...and, at this point, I honestly don’t give too much thought to my boobs anymore. They’re not perfect, but I’m overall happy with them. I am once again confident in my birthday suit! I havent really noticed many changes over the past year, despite choosing not to wear a bra to bed. Comfort and good sleep outweigh perky boobs in my book! To anyone with breasts similar to mine (empty, and with pseudo-ptosis) who is nervous about having a Benelli (there are so many surgeons who seem to HATE them-I had consults with two docs who told me that they would ONLY do a vertical lift on me): Choose your PS wisely AND make sure that you have realistic expectations. I wanted my pre-baby breasts back, and I think that was fairly well accomplished...I am nearly certain I would have been disappointing with the scarring from a vertical lift. The “improved” shape it would have offered me would not have outweighed the scarring. Also, advocate for yourself. My PS would have gladly added an extra 100cc+ to my implants if I hadn’t stressed my desire to keep small breasts (30DDD tiny, lol). Cosmetic surgery should be done for our own personal aesthetic appeal, NOBODY else’s (not even our PS’s). Know what you want, and find the best surgeon to be able to offer that to you!
Everyone has a different pain threshold. Some patients go without any pain medication and some require more. Discuss with your surgeon your concerns about managing pain after surgery. On an average with Breast Augmentation the first three to four days are when my patients need a bit more pain control. All the best to you.
It is much to early to determine your end result. Keep in close contact with or surgeon and follow his or her advice. I see many patients from other cities. We keep in contact though many pictures and phone calls. All the best to you.
You have a very nice result. But I agree, if you want to increase your size that is your decision. Live with them for a few more months, then make your decision. All the best to you.
An examination would be needed as in the pictures it is difficult to see how much asymmetry and ptosis you have. You most likely could have a breast augmentation without a lift however you would need to go with a larger implant to fill the skin you have. You may consider doing a Benelli or Circumareolar Mastopexy with implants instead of a full lift. All the best to you.
In a word, yes. Laser Liposuction or SmartLipo would be very effective for this area, which we call the "Banana Roll". Consult with a surgeon who has much experience with body sculpting. All the best to you.
