Recovery varies depending on the amount of soft tissue trauma. Expect a few days of recovery at the least. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian#Realself100 Surgeon
Thank you for sharing your question and best wishes on your upcoming procedure. Because it is your upper back and neck it will take approximately a week for you to feel better and allow for any drains to be removed. Because you use your back for most activities it will feel tight and sore for a few weeks. As long as your job does not entail heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, or overhead activities you can return to work within a few day's time. Hope this helps.
It will take several weeks for you to recover from the discomfort. The most annoying part is having the drain. Make sure you don't do anything that would cause the drain to come out prematurely.Best
Thank you for your question and post. The recovery time will vary from patient to patient but I would expect at least ~1week. The surgeon will remove the drain when it is ready to come out, and there is little fluid output. Be sure to follow up with your surgeon for specific instructions about showering/bathing/and return to activities. Benjamin J.
