Hello! I'm considering breast augmentation due to the asymmetrical/tubular breasts I have. I'm wondering how realistic it is to expect my nipples to point in the same direction, be on the same plane, and my areolas to match (or close to matching). Also, I've went to a consult where I was told they would raise the bigger breast's nipple to match and do silicone over the muscle. Thanks in advance!
Answer: Nipple Asymmetry Thank you for your question. The photos you provided reveal a significant amount of breast and nipple height asymmetry. This natural breast shape will simple rest on top of a breast implant and will only become more noticeable unless something is done to treat it. The breast implant simply creates a 'mound' under your natural breast tissue and cannot, by itself, change nipple and breast shape asymmetries. In your case, It would be very reasonable to proceed with a breast augmentation but you would need to strongly consider doing a breast lift on the left side as well. With this combination fo procedures, you should be able to achieve reasonable breast symmetry. Personally, I would suggest an implant placed under the muscle (dual-plane procedure) as you are quite thin and would have a more natural look with less rippling than if placed in front of the muscle. I do hope this helps with your decision making.

Answer: Implants With implants to both breasts and a lift to your larger breast, I think you could achieve fairly close symmetry. Do remember that your breast are "sisters and not twins," and will never be exactly alike.

Answer: Breast asymmetry Thank you for your question. You do have significantly asymmetric breasts. I believe you could have better symmetry of the breasts as they sit on the chest wall as well as the nipple and areola complex with a bilateral augmentation and a modified breast lift on the left side. I would not expect perfect symmetry but you would have much better situation than you have now. I suggest you see a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in breast surgery. Good luck!

Answer: My recommendation Hello dear, Thank you for your question. Based in your question and the pictures you showed, you are a great candidate for a breast augmentation. Tuberous breasts are one of the most challenging breast shapes to correct. The implant size and shape can be determined by breast measurements during consultation. Perfect symmetry is not realistic, so, just make sure you have a great board certified plastic surgeon that makes beautiful breasts for an amazin result. Im sure youll get great results.Good Luck and stay safe! Dr. Luis Mejia.

Answer: Breast Augmentation Hello and great question. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Breast Augmentation Specialist. After looking at your photo, I believe you have options for augmentation. However, it is important to keep in mind there is no such thing as perfect symmetry. I would definitely recommend doing an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in this procedure and who can suggest what is needed. I hope that helps! Best of Luck! Matthew J. Nykiel MD
