if your expectations aren't that high, straight liposuction may help a little bit. You could probably get a beautiful result with a full tummy tuck, in which case you could have liposuction of your entire abdomen and the skin below your bellybutton would be excised.
Thank you for your question, your shared history, and provided pictures. It appears that this abdominal wrinkle, likely post-liposuction, is due to uneven skin retraction after fat removal, causing this indentation.Treatment OptionsEarly Stage (Less than 8 weeks post-op):Deep Tissue Massage & Lymphatic Massage: May smooth out the wrinkle if still in the early healing phase.Mid Stage (Around 6 months post-op):Revision Liposuction: Cutting the retaining fibers can release the skin and potentially smooth the area.Fat Transfer: This more complex procedure involves transferring fat to the indented area to level it.Advanced Solution:Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck): The most aggressive option, removing the affected skin area, providing a definitive solution.Given the information provided, revision liposuction seems the most viable first step, with considerations for more or less aggressive options based on your healing journey and personal preference.I hope this clarifies the options available to address the wrinkle on your abdomen post-liposuction. Wishing you all the best on your journey to resolution.Sincerely,Dr. Katzen
I recommend a tummy tuck to take care of the excess skin and fat of the abdominal wall. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
The indentation comes from excess skin relative to the emptied subcutaneous tissues. The only way to truly get rid of that extra skin would be to pursue skin excision, such as a tummy tuck or mini tummy tuck. However, aggressive scar massage and compression can minimize the appearance of the wrinkle although they are unlikely to ever make it go completely away.
Thankyou for your query. Based on your pictures, in which some of your surgeon’s markings can be seen, it seems you are still in the initial part of your recovery . If you are within a couple of weeks from surgery, massages and external ultrasound can help a lot. Subsequently, I have had success with invasive radio-frequency ( ThermiTight) to improve the wrinkles and creases. Another approach is subcision to free the scar tissue that is pulling the skin in , along with injection of a small amount of your own fat in the depression. Please discuss your concerns and options it’s your surgeon who should be help you. All the best!
Depending how far you are from surgery you may find improvement by giving the tissues more time to heal. Lymphatic massages and compression can help control swelling and support healing tissues. If you are six months or more from surgery you may consider a tummy tuck to remove excess fat and skin as well as correct abdominal wall laxity.
That wrinkle may have been caused by the garment. If you are less than one year out from surgery, you could try wearing foam pad and then a garment to help smooth it out.
Based on the posted photos I would recommend Skin Only Full TT with muscle plication. Best to virtual consult with... Fee from $8,000.
It looks like your early out from your procedure. I suggest waiting at least six months before judging the results. There is nothing you can do to change the outcome of the procedure on your own without surgical intervention. It’s too soon to judge. You’ll need to wait six months for the results to be final and if that point you can review the outcome with your provider. If this does not clear up on its own then I’m going to guess that your provider may have been doing high definition liposuction and may have intentionally tried to create six pack lines. Hard to know from limited information. I suggest you follow up with your provider.best,Mats Hagstrom MD
