Can I get arm lipo with a Nexplanon implant? (photos)

I have a nexplanon implant but I have some excess fat in my arms (not much) but they’ve caused stretch marks so I figured that means the fat isn’t supposed to be there. I’d like to know if it’s possible for me to get Lipo in my arms with the implant in.

Hi! One can have arm liposuction with a hormonal implant in place. The implant may very well be in the liposuction plane, so it is possible that you may want to have it removed for better final contour results. Exogenous hormone can increase your risk of getting a blood clot in your legs, so that could be a consideration as well. 
My advice would be to meet with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and develop a optimal plan.

It depends on exactly where it is related to the areas you want to treat on the arm, but if its in the treatment zone then its probably safest to remove it first. The only way to know for sure is to book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to be examined. Best of luck!

sb128   Liposuction is commonly performed in the upper arms with excellent results when the patient is an appropriate candidate. However the Nexplanon implant does complicate issues somewhat. The exact location of the implant is important and if it is palpable and can be avoided, liposuction may be an option. However your plastic surgeon should discuss the procedure with the gynecologist who placed your implant. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
