From what I have read nostril asymmetry is "normal" in early post op rhinoplasty phase. I am understandably concerned when I see pictures of people who's 12 month post op Picts look like my 1 week post op Picts. Any insight or calming of fears would be appreciated regarding the fact that a) my nose is slanted b) one nostril sits higher than the other. Thank you.

Your postop swelling should be commensurate with the aggressiveness of the procedure. Decreased swelling occurs with closed procedures and tip only procedures. If you had osteotomies and large dorsal hump resections, the swelling typically is more significant.

Hi jas_986,Since the photos does not clearly show your nose profile, and since we do not have a complete history, we cannot give a definite assessment for your nose, however, I am quite certain that the "hole" in your septum has nothing to do with the changes in the physical profile of your nose.
