Thank you for your question about Voluma. Do you have before and after pictures. Not everyone is a good candidate for Voluma. It is a very expensive product for the physician to purchase from the manufacturer. To be sure, see two or more licensed and board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have these treatments.I hope this helps.
We often advise patients to use fillers judiciously. There is nothing wrong with underfilling and seeing if you like a filler before undergoing multiple syringe injections. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
It is important to remember that filler and any volume restoration of the face can be costly. Here at Stillwater Plastic Surgery our price for Voluma is $875 for one syringe and $1600 for 2. Each practice has a different price point based on location and demand for the product. More importantly Voluma is more expensive than other dermal fillers because it is known to last longer. Up to 2 years versus up to 1 years in other fillers. Additionally, the cost of Voluma is based on the number of syringes purchased. If you are unhappy with your results I recommend discussing this matter with your injector or the plastic surgeon. I hope this answers your question.
I am sorry to hear that you did not achieve satisfactory results after your Voluma injections. It is important to be on the same page as your physician when it comes to understanding and setting of expectations. I would suggest meeting with your physician to determine why you're not satisfied and what your treatment options are at this point.
The price of fillers is not based onthe cost of the materials (although voluma costs the physician much more than the other fillers), but is more based on who is doing the injecting and their techiques and experience. I suggest seeing an expert. It also lasts much longer than other fillers -- 2 years vs 9-12 months on average. Best, Dr. Emer.
The procedure required advanced injection skill, and should only be performed by an experienced and expert physician injector. The cost of voluma varies widely across the country and even in South Florida. The average price in the area is $1000/syringe. As a diamond level injector with Allergan, we can offer voluma for $750 for the first syringe of voluma, and two syringes of voluma for $1100.
Voluma costs more for a number of reasons: 1. The filler to the doctor costs more so that means the charge is higher to the patient too; 2. The longevity of the product means that the cost will be more; and 3. We recommend and use multiple syringes based on the necessity of what the patient wants. Remember that a 1ml syringe has about 1 teaspoon of actual material. That's not a lot of material. So when a patient wants a number of areas done or specific results, more product is needed which means you have to pay more. I'm not sure specifically why you are unhappy with your results, but you should talk to your injecting physician.
