I also have issues wearing lip stick. My lips swell and chap with all lip stick. I can wear chap stick and anything with no color added. Do you think I would have a reaction with juvederm.
Answer: Juvederm and keloid Having authored the chapter in text of plastic surgery that all plastic surgeons in North America read, I could tell you that you would need to be seen for an evaluation with a keloid scar expert in the area prior to any treatment as such. Keloids could happen almost anywhere if you have the affected gene. However, majority of the time patients self diagnose having a scar as keloid. Also I assess degree and severity of keloid formation easily and make recommendations to patient prior to treatment. So again you need proper evaluation and treatment by an expert. Keloids are extremely rare in mucosal areas such as lip but could occur on lip borders if you are prone to keloid after a skin cut or trauma.

Answer: Propensity to Keloid & Lip Filler Just because you have a propensity to keloid should not prevent you from getting filler in the lips. However, you do want to see a very experienced injector. This is truly the key to a successful outcome.

My best advice would be for you to schedule an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon or cosmetic dermatologist to be assessed. Great results really come down to the skill of the injector. There are also quite a few new fillers on the market that are great for the lips such as Volbella. Best of luck.

Answer: Juvederm We've never had an issue injecting people with Juvederm, even if they are prone to scarring or keloids. Ultimately, any adverse effects mostly depend on the skill of the injector, since we've encountered no issues with allergies.
