Hello! I'm planning to get Juverdem lip fillers on the day before I go to my vacation, which involves sea and sun, so I was wondering is this completely safe and hygienic or the risk of complications that may occur is bigger? Should I wait until I come back from my vacation?
Answer: Can I Have Lip Filler Before Vacation? Thank you for your question. Yes, it is not unreasonable to have an injection of hyaluronic acid filler (such as Juvederm) before a vacation. However, whenever filler is injected into the lips, some swelling can be expected. This is perfectly normal, and can be treated with cold compress to the lips. I would be sure to let your injector know your plans, and have contact information should you have any questions.

Answer: Wait until after vacation I would recommend that you wait until after your vacation. It's not that it's unsafe but your lips are going to be swollen and tender and that simply doesn't sound ideal for a vacation.

Answer: Lip Fillers Before A Vacation, Is This Safe? Thank you for your excellent question. Please keep in mind that swelling is common after treatment with Juvederm, especially when the lips are treated. Icing is beneficial for up to 48 hours after the procedure. Arnica may also help to minimize normal postprocedure swelling and bruising, if present. It will take 2 weeks for normal postprocedure swelling to fully resolve and to see your final result. For this reason, I typically recommend that my patients avoid lip injections just prior to a trip or planned social event. I would suggest that you discuss any concerns about this with your injector in order to determine the best treatment plan. Hope this helps and enjoy your vacation!

Answer: Lip fillers before vacation Thank you for your question. While there is no absolute contraindication to having fillers the day before leaving on vacation, I think it is important to keep in mind that the lips are a very sensitive area. It's not uncommon to experience swelling (sometimes significant) and bruising for up to 2 weeks after any lip filler injections. For this reason, I often recommend that my patients avoid having filler injections immediately before any major events or trips. I hope this helps!
