I got my lips done yesterday and they don't look even, you can totally tell with the line in between my upper and bottom lip. What can I do? If this didn't fix itself does my doctor has to make them even again? Are they going to charge me again?
Answer: Lip swelling Dear yeschairez,Juvederm has significant swelling post injection. I would follow up with you plastic surgeon but typically I tell all my patients to wait a full two weeks. Generally at 2 weeks they are happy and glad they didn't dissolve. Dissolving is unpredictable as well.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Answer: Asymmetrical Swelling--Lip augmentation Results with Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Volbella) You can have swelling, which can be asymmetrical, for 1-2 weeks after lip injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Too soon to judge It is way too soon to judge your results. Your lips are swollen and will be for the next couple of weeks. Swelling is often asymmetric. For now, be patient. Hopefully, this will resolve to your liking.

Answer: Very swollen lips after Juvederm Dear Yeschairez: Immediately after the lip filler injection swelling is typical and can peak at about 3-4 hours. Some swelling can persist for 1-2 weeks but should be less than that immediately after the injection. Some questions remain, how much filler was injected? More than 1cc? (over 1cc will result in more pronounced augmentation as well as swelling). Was the product really Juvederm and if so was it the appropriate product such as juvederm ultra or juvederm volubella? Sometimes swelling, occasionally extreme, is normal and should settle down in less than 24 hours generally, although accessing asymmetry should wait for several weeks to ensure all swelling and any bruising has fully resolved. If the lip remains significantly asymmetrical then some filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase or filler added to the smaller side. Make sure you see a board certified dermatologist, plastic surgeon or head and neck surgeon. If their nurse performed the procedure and there is any problem, please call the physician as they will want to speak with you.

Answer: Swelling after Juvederm Thank you for your question. It's not uncommon to experience swelling for up to two weeks after any filler injections. At times, this swelling can be asymmetric and can make your filler appear uneven. It is impossible to assess your results until your swelling has fully subsided. For now, I would recommend gently applying ice or cool compresses to the area to help the swelling resolve sooner. Please follow-up with your doctor in 2 weeks if you have any concerns. If necessary, Juvederm can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. I hope this helps!
