You have some swelling, which can be asymmetrical, and can last 1-2 weeks after lip injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
I recommend that you wait at least 2 weeks before judging your results. It can take at least that long for the swelling to fully resolve and it is often asymmetric.
Hello and Thanks for the question. I would recommend allowing 2 weeks for the swelling to subside. If you are concerned at that time contact the injecting professional to discuss your concerns. I always take pre-treatment pictures and discuss any pre-existing asymmetries that might be magnified after filler injection of the lips and any other part of the face.Hope this helps and good luck!Dr David
Thank you for your question and for sharing your photograph. Please keep in mind that it will take 2 weeks to allow for normal postprocedure swelling (which is often asymmetric) to fully resolve and to see your final result. At that point, if you continue to have any concerns, please be sure to see your injector for an in-person reevaluation in order to determine the best course of action. Hope this helps and best wishes!
Thank you for your question and for submitting your photo. You're absolutely correct - it's not uncommon to experience swelling for up to two weeks after filler injections in the lips. At times, this swelling can be uneven, which can make the lips appear lopsided or asymmetric. Juvederm can also feel lumpy or hard initially after injection - typically, Juvederm absorbs water and softens over the course of a few weeks, and gradually blends into your skin. For now, I would recommend applying ice or cool compresses to your lips, as this may help the swelling subside sooner. If you are still concerned in another week, please follow-up with your injector. He/she may be able to gently massage your filler to help better balance it, or if needed, dissolve your filler with hyaluronidase. Best of luck!
I would recommend getting the lip filler first. Letting that heal completely and then get the lip tattoo. Otherwise, the tattoo will stretch with the filler and it may look odd.
It is impossible to say from just a photo. It could be due to your anatomy -- you might have some old scar tissue on that side which is preventing the skin from stretching to accommodate the filler or it could be due to technique. If it's the latter, seeing another really experienced injector is...
No. You need to let your lips fully heal from your first treatment so that the injector can see your final results and judge where more filler needs to be placed. I know it's frustrating to not see what you want immediately, but for now, patience is key.
