Can I still get a breast augmentation after being diagnosed at epileptic?

You certainly could have a breast augmentation if you have a seizure disorder. The must be well-controlled. Your plastic surgeon should talk to your neurologist concerning your treatment or medications any potential recommendations before after and during surgery.

As long as you get clearance from your neurologist then there is no reason why you couldn't have breast augmentation surgery. Hope all goes well for you!

Dear GG, Thank you for your post.  There is nothing contra-indicated about having breast implants when one has epilepsy.  Implants are very strong, especially the highly cohesive (gummy bear) implants.  It sounds like your epilepsy is well controlled.  Notify your physician of your intentions, and ask for advice on modulation of epilepsy meds during the post-operative period.  Best wishes, Pablo Prichard, MD

You would need to have the neurologist treating your epilepsy give you clearance first. Then it would be safe to proceed with your BA.

You may certainly have a breast augmentation if you have a seizure disorder.  Discuss this with your plastic surgeon,and make sure he uses a good, Board Certified anesthesiologist.

The quick answer is yes you certainly can have breast augmentation if you have a seizure disorder.  The new or cohesive gel breast implants are quite strong and should not be affected by any seizure activity.However it is essential that you see your neurologist and ask the neurologist for his or her opinion.  If your neurologist agrees than the neurologist should submit a letter of medical clearance to your plastic surgeon.  Of course discuss this in detail with your plastic surgeon during your consultation.

You can have a breast augmentation with your seizure disorder.   Of course you need to be well controlled and need the approval of your neurologist.   You would have the usual stress of surgery but that is not excessive.  Surgery lasts 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours and usually is done under a general anesthesia.   I see no obvious barriers to implant surgery.   My Best,  Dr C
