I had breast augmentation 7/23/13. I had my areoles decreased also. Under my left areola is an uneven, very white patch of scar tissue. It looks like the bottom of my areola is discolored white. Very noticeable. And it looks like the stitching is uneven. What can I do about this? I have biocorneum scar cream but was wondering if continued use will help or what product I need to buy to help. Also, I am wanting to tan. Will tanning help it or make it worse?

Answer: Augmentation Mastopexy You Underwent a combined procedure with tightening of the skin of your breast. It appears that there was some delayed wound healing in this area which led to scar tissue. It appears that the tissue in this area remains tight and may be under some tension at this point still. Ideally a scar revision would be needed but you must have enough laxity in this area. Consult a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss treatment options. Its unlikely that any type of cream will help at this point.

Answer: Areolar Scar If this is a scar, it is unlikely this will resolve. Over time it may shrink slightly, but scars present at one year's time will probably not change significantly in appearance. If the skin is not tight, a scar revision can be considered. A more conservative option would be to have someone certified in micropigmentation try to match the scar color with the color of the surrounding skin. I am unaware of any creams that will reduce its appearance. Tanning the surrounding skin may make the scar more obvious as scars don't tan the same.
