Bruising/fluid retention after Airsculpt lipo - how long should it last, what's the best way to speed healing?

Airsculpt lipo to full abs + inner thighs, I'm only 5 days post-op so fully understand it's very early. But the level of bruising seems outside the norm for what's expected from this procedure-my crit was 39 so not anemic. How do I speed up healing? Many reviews for this type of lipo report instant results before swelling sets in (followed by few weeks of fluctuations), but I've only seen dramatic size increase and can still see substantial fat in the areas treated. How should I interpret this?

Bruising is common and can move toward gravity. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling and improve healing. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. It is common to have some swelling and bruising after liposuction. It can be worse if compression garments are not being used as instructed. But all bruising should subside in a few weeks. If compression was not used or not tight enough then swelling can take months to go away. Once the bruising is gone you may want to have endermology which helps expedite resolution of the swelling and or any bumpiness. Good luck

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  Some bruising with liposuction is a possibility and can be significant based on the aggressiveness of the surgeon.  In most cases of liposuction patients will experience swelling quickly during the recovery period, and which takes 6-8 weeks to see improvement.  I would advocate wearing a compression garment, eat more dark, leafy green vegetables in your diet and supplement with Arnica Montana and Bromelain tablets.  Hope this helps.

Liposuction can produce a lot of swelling that can take many weeks to resolve. You are only 5 days out and need to let it heal.

It takes about six weeks before patients see results that resemble final results.

The first 2 to 3 weeks is the worst time to judge the results because of swelling.

Bruising is the visual representation of the breakdown of hemoglobin in red blood cells. It tends to spread into different areas through lymphatics and from gravity.

Early after the procedure the swelling easily mimics subcutaneous fat and patience cannot appreciate final results.

For that reason I ask all my patients to please not judge the results within the first six weeks and to expect final results to take a minimum of three months.
