How soon after breast augmentation/fat grafting can I lift weights?

Question

I went to a consultation today where the doctor told me 3 months, but other doctors are saying 6 weeks? How soon am I able to lift weight after this procedure?

Hello. In my opinion you can lift around 2 to 3kgs weight by around 3 weeks. But for more heavy weight lifting it is better to wait for a period of about 6 to 7 weeks to prevent any complications. Hope I have cleared your doubt. Thanks for posting your query. All the best.

Hello, usually we say 6 weeks to resume all physical activities safely. If you had a breast augmentation placed sub muscularly and you plan on going back to lift weights, you may notice strengthening of the pec muscle may allow for your implant to sit higher than usual. You can massage them down. If you simply had a fat transfer to the breasts, this would not be affected after resuming weight lifting.

There is no right or wrong answer. Fat transfer is a hit or miss procedure and I don’t think 6 weeks or 3 months will make a difference. However I recommend you follow your surgeon’s advice.
