Can I start using Minoxidil after 10 days after FUE?

Hello Docs, need advise if after 10 days of the surgery enough to start using Minoxidil 5% just to conserve the original remaining hair. Thanks

We generally allow our patients to start or resume Minoxidil at post-op day 10 as the grafts are secure in the scalp by than.Please check with your surgeon.

It is best to contact your doctor about post operative care and instructions since each doctor has a different regimen.  In general, you do not need to use minoxidil after surgery.

It is safe to start using minoxidil again 14 days after your procedure OR once the recipient area has healed entirely aka all your scabs have fallen off and your scalp is clean.Consult with your surgeon if you have any doubts.

Generally it's safe to use Minoxidil starting around two weeks following your transplant, once all the scabs/crusts have been removed and the skin is healed. When in doubt it's always best to consult with your doctor as they know the specifics of your case.

If you were using minoxidil prior to the hair transplant, then at 10 days with all of the crusts off, you can start it again but if you did not use it prior to your hair transplant than there is no need for its use
