We generally allow our patients to start or resume Minoxidil at post-op day 10 as the grafts are secure in the scalp by than. Please check with your surgeon.
It is best to contact your doctor about post operative care and instructions since each doctor has a different regimen. In general, you do not need to use minoxidil after surgery.
It is safe to start using minoxidil again 14 days after your procedure OR once the recipient area has healed entirely aka all your scabs have fallen off and your scalp is clean.Consult with your surgeon if you have any doubts.
Generally it's safe to use Minoxidil starting around two weeks following your transplant, once all the scabs/crusts have been removed and the skin is healed. When in doubt it's always best to consult with your doctor as they know the specifics of your case.
We recommend our patients to start with Minoxidil after 20 days of the surgery. Every doctor has his own recommendation and this is why you should consult with your own doctor about his post op instructions.
If you were using minoxidil prior to the hair transplant, then at 10 days with all of the crusts off, you can start it again but if you did not use it prior to your hair transplant than there is no need for its use

It may take six to twelve months to appreciate the results of a hair transplant surgery. If you are concerned it is best to contact your doctor.
