Hi, I am experiencing sensations in donor area and getting heard aches today. Is this normal ? Also, what can I do to soothe the feelings in donor area ?

If you are considering a cosmetic surgery it would be in your interest to see a doctor for an examination to make sure you would be a candidate.  Keeping your hair long will help hide the surgery.

There are no studies regarding smoking cigarettes and hair transplant results.  You can infer smoking is bad for you so if are concerned about your investment in hair you can consider limiting your use.

Thanks for the question. Based on your photos, the 2000-3000 grafts might be good option for you, but it would be wrong to say something for sure. You should see a board certified surgeon. You can then plan the process together and discuss the results. I wish you all the best.

After how many days post-op are the grafts secure in the recipient area and can't be loosened? (Photo)

It is best to contact your doctor about post operative care and instructions since each doctor has a different regimen.  Many doctors say that the grafts are considered secure after a few weeks (to be safe).

Tender lumps are not normal.  It may be in your interest to contact your doctor for a follow up exam and possibly receive treatment.

It is normal to shed transplanted hairs weeks after surgery.  The new hairs may take 6 to 12 months to grow.
