Abdominal Hernia Repair with Tummy tuck. Will my insurance cover this?

Hello, I was just approved by my insurance carrier to have a hernia repair. I would also like to have a full tummy tuck after/during the procedure. Please tell me if anyone of you in NYC or Long Island are within network of United Healthcare Commununity plan.

This is a common combined procedure.  Whether or not any particular plastic surgeon will be covered for the hernia repair depends on the details of your Community Plan.  Best to check with the insurance company.

You may have both procedures together. The hernia repair could be covered by your insurance, the tummy tuck, no.

I accept United Healthcare but I am not a participating physician. If you have an HMO, you may have to see a participating physician. If you have a PPO, you can see any plastic surgeon who accepts your insurance. Oterwise, check the United Healthcare Website and search for a plastic surgeon.Hope this helps.
