I'm in my 40s and have always hated my bulbous tip and nostrils. I know as we get olderour nose gets bigger so i want to do something about it before i'm too old. I was wondering if it's advisable to reduce the sides of the nostrils and maybe add some cartilage to the tip for a bit of height and definition wihtout breakibg any bones or adding implant/rib to the bridge? The picture of me pinching my nostrils a bit is how i would like my nostrils to look.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Cartilage grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
