You would benefit from removing the dorsal hump, reshaping the tip, correcting the nostrils, and decreasing the projection and size of the nose. A rhinoplasty in my opinion is one of the most difficult procedures to perform. In my practice, I utilize piezosurgery. Piezosurgery is a more gentle technique that allows for greater precision. Less bruising and swelling is common with Piezosurgery. In a typical rhinoplasty, a hammer and chisel technique is performed leading to more inadvertent fractures. Best of Luck, Dr. Nima!

In your case, I would say your instincts are about right. The concept of "facial harmony" is important when selecting which features of the face to modify for an ideal aesthetic result. This basically means that if one feature looks out of proportion to another, then it may be the cause of the entire face to look out of balance. In this case, your nose is one of the stronger features of your face, which may be why your eye has been drawn to it. The width of your nasal tip and nostrils and "dorsal hump" can all be addressed in a rhinoplasty, or "nose job," with a combination of likely tip and dorsal reduction techniques. It is difficult to evaluate the characteristics of the nasal skin in photographs but there is a suggestion that the nasal skin is moderately thick. In situations like this to achieve the impression of increased definition for the nasal tip it is preferable to maintain the tip projection and add support. Nasal length can be reduced in combination with reduction of the bridge to create the impression that the nose is smaller on profile.

From the front view it is possible to narrow both the bridge of the nose, tip and alar base but the degree of narrowing achievable is better determined in consultation with the surgeon of your choice.

Because the chin is slightly small, sometimes there is benefit from enhancing the chin either with injectable filler or a chin implant or genioplasty. Photographs taken on a mobile phone are notoriously problematic because of the distortion that they generate. You would be able to assess better the balance of the profile with photographs taken on a typical photo camera ideally from 1.5-2 m away.

Based on your photos, you are a great candidate for rhinoplasty. The whole nose could be made smaller by taking down the bump and refining the length and width of the tip. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist for consultation.

Thank you for your question. I think rhinoplasty is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey haired plastic surgeon's sport. Best wishes to you.
