Can I get 360 Liposuction/BBL if I have lipomas in my back?

I have 2 small lipomas on my lower back and was cleared by my pcp for surgery.

Hi, thank you for sharing your question. You can certainly get a 360 Lipo + BBL. During your consultation, your plastic surgeon can evaluate the location of the lipomas and determine if they need to be addressed before or after surgery. I hope this helps.

Lipomas are not a contraindication to liposuction or  BBL.  Liposuction alone may be used to treat certain lipomas (although they do re-occur more often with lipo vs surgical excision).

Granted you have been cleared for surgery by your PCP, you are eligible for a BBL. If you are a good candidate (less than 5L of fat) for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. If you have a provider then you should ask Kim or her how they feel about doing the bus section on someone who has lightpomus in the area that will be treated.

Some will not have an issue with it some may claim that the lipoma can be removed with Liposuction and some may want you to have them removed first.

I’ve seen plastic surgeons with all three mindsets so ask your provider what he or she wants you to do. If you’ve not chosen a provider or have not had an in person consultation then that is the first step in the process regardless.

Delivering consistent high-quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe it. For that reason I recommend all patients have multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons at which time you should ask the provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures for the procedure and anatomic area of interest.

An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you 50 or more sets of before and after pictures. Seeing three or four examples that are in fact the best results of their career is not a good representation of what the average results look like.
