30 year old implants without issues. Should I consider a revision?

Implants are meant to be life-long devices. If you are getting routine MRIs to investigate the integrity of the implant and there are no issues, there is no need to replace the implants. I recommend speaking with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns.

Thank you for your question. Implants are FDA approved for 10 to 20 years. You can safely go beyond these time frames, but remember that breast implants do not last forever. They can rupture, leak, and implants may deflate. Shrinkage of your tissue around the implant may occur. We call this problem Capsular Contracture which results in firmness, hardness, or deformity you can see and feel. I would personally recommend you replace your implants. Best wishes.

If you have saline implants, then enjoy them. If you have gel implants, please have them removed and replaced for your old gel is leaking, even if just inside the capsule. The MRI is not 100 % correct.

If the scans look normal and you are asymptomatic, then consider just letting it be for now. A full consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon would be good for you to help you follow it along.
