I had my surgery done on thursday and since the freezing has worn off my left ear has hurt a little bit (tolerable) but my right ear has been extremely painful. They are both insanely itchy which I'm assuming is due to the wrapping which is still on. My right ear is really swollen but my left ear is not. Is this a problem? I'm seeing my surgeon on Tuesday.
I had ear pinning back surgery when I was around 12 in another country but a lot of non dissolvable sutures were left inside ears and slightly protruding out of my cartilage. I am now 33 and every now and then it gets red and swollen and tender with puss. No doctor I have seen can help me because it's cosmetic and was done out of country. The sutures seem embedded. What would be correct doctor in Miami that I need to see and the price because I am sure insurance doesn't cover. Thabk you.
I went to the doctor today to have my bandage changed, 5 days after surgery, and my ears were very swollen. Doctor said everything looked normal, no signs of infection, just some bleeding which may have blocked my ear canal. He said it takes about a week for the swelling to reduce significantly after I finally remove the bandage, as according to him, part of the reason my ears remain swollen is due to being compressed by the bandage. Is this consistent with usual recovery process?
I am worried about my right ear. It is very bruised and swollen still and I have blisters on top of and behind my ear. Also there are a few stitches visible and I don't know if this is normal? My left ear has no bruisng or blisters and looks fine. Does my right ear appear to be healing ok after 6 days from the photos??
It's been 3 days after otoplasty and my ears are swollen, hurtful, blue and red. The headband I am supposed to wear only when I am at home is really tight and gives an uncomfortable pressure. Should I wear it more often anyway? I have the feeling it's not healing. It's not bleeding though. Can I cool the ears or do something with the blues? Did something go wrong as usually people don't have that kind of swollen, red blue ears after otoplasty?
Hello, I am on my 6th day of recovery after Otoplasty and I was wondering about the possible side effects of Marijuana. It seems that when I smoke, my ears become more inflamed/swollen than they were before smoking. They also start to hurt a little bit more than they did before smoking. Is it bad to smoke after such a procedure? Thank you.
I'm 4 days post surgery but since day two (after the band was removed) I noticed some leakage from the antihelix, it's really swollen and the skin has the appearance as if a blister had popped. The doctor gave me antibiotics and an antibiotic ointment to put in the suture's area which I have also spread in the infected wound according to his instructions. Still, I'm very worried that it will evolve into chondritis. How does the diagnostic look? Will the cartilage stay that big? Thank you!

Had an autoplasty 3 weeks ago, i still have swelling where the ears appear more red towards the top. The left ear especially is more swollen. Is this amount of swelling normal? I did my surgery in Prague but i can't return there as i am back at work.
