What Are The Chances Of My Ears Going Back To Its Original Shape After Otoplasty?

My Surgeon Used Dissovable Sutures Externally And Internally i am not sure what sutures were used, I Am Current 5 Weeks Post Op My Ears Look Like They Are Symmetrical Sometimes And Thrn Sometimes They Don't I'm Scared My Ears Will Go Back To Normal, Also My Right Ear Is still swollen will my ear go back after swelling or spring forward a bit ? When can I sleep without a headband ?

Congratulations on your otoplasty, dannteb23!
Don’t worry about your ears returning back to what they were before. An otoplasty gives permanent results, so as long as you don’t do anything to deform your ears, the results will stay that way.
As for the swelling, it will eventually die down in a few months’ time.
Better go back to your reputable and board-certified plastic surgeon to know when you’re ready to sleep without a headband.

Since ear shape is the result of cartilage and skin, surgical Otoplasty is a permanent procedure.  If the surgeon used his experience and technique you should have a satisfactory and permanent result.  At five weeks you may have asymmetries, tightness and discomfort.  Usually this resolves, but, I would continue to follow up with your surgeon.
