When will the blues be gone and did everything go fine with my otoplasty? When will it look normal? (Photos)

It's been 3 days after otoplasty and my ears are swollen, hurtful, blue and red. The headband I am supposed to wear only when I am at home is really tight and gives an uncomfortable pressure. Should I wear it more often anyway? I have the feeling it's not healing. It's not bleeding though. Can I cool the ears or do something with the blues? Did something go wrong as usually people don't have that kind of swollen, red blue ears after otoplasty?

Thank you for your question and photos.  It is normal to get some degree of bruising and swelling following otoplasty.  If you are experiencing more pain and the ear feels very swollen then contact your surgeon.  This may be a sign of a haematoma or collection of blood under the skin.  This may require drainage.

Brusing and swelling after an otoplasty is normal and varies depending on the technique that has been used. This usually lasts about one week or so. If the head band is too tight and hurts you can improvise and use a looser head band or a bandage that fits comfortably. If you experience increasing swelling or pain you should call your surgeon and ask to be seen earlier. I hope this helps.
