Would an autoimmune disorder such as ITP cause a higher risk of developing BII?

Although have have an autoimmune disorder can make you a riskier candidate for all elective surgeries, there is no direct statistical study that shows a link between the two. I would make sure that this surgery is safe for you by speaking to your plastic surgeon.

In general, if your autoimmune condition is mild and especially if it is under control, as this sounds, you are safe to proceed with surgery. Often an additional clearance letter is requested from the physician caring for you discussing this fact. We have had many, many clients proceed with breast augmentation procedures without issue despite underlying conditions. I would discuss your desires and concerns with the surgeon when consulting and come up with a care plan that you both feel comfortable with to proceed.
