Thank you for your question about your breast augmentation scars. Typically, when implant are placed with an inframmary incision, it will be in the crease of your breasts. For specific questions like this and about your recovery in general, it is best to speak directly with your doctor or doctor’s representative – such as his or her nurse, or the physician on call for the practice. You will likely get many differing opinions from members of the RealSelf Community, but they have not personally seen or examined you. Nobody should know you or your unique set of circumstances better than your doctor. If you feel you are not being listened to or you are doubting your doctor’s recommendations, then it is certainly within your rights to seek a second opinion and get the advice from another board certified physician. This should be done through an in-person consultation with a thorough evaluation, including a review of your history, review of all prior treatment and with a physical examination.Best wishes!
Hello thank you for you question. Usually the incision is made just below your natural breast crease. Sometimes when placing and implant the incision that was made can float a bit usually upwards. I would speak to you plastic surgeon about the results and express your concerns.
Thanks for your question! Your scars do appear to be lower than I would consider ideal. I would suggest reaching out to your plastic surgeon to see what options they have for scar care. Good luck!
Dear Loren 1991,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
You do have some bottoming out on the lower side. Please discuss your concerns and options with your surgeon. Do wear a good supporting bra.
Yes, from your photos it does appear that your scars are too low. Typically they are within the breast fold and not visible in bathing suits or bras. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon.
Thank you for your inquiry and photos. I agree that your scars are definitely too low on the chest. I would question why the surgeon decided to place them in that location and what can be done to at least improve on the appearance of the scars.
Hello dear, Thank you for the question. To be straight forward, yes your scars might have been upper than this about 2-3 cm. They definitely don't look bad and seems like you healed nicely. If you are so bothered by them, I recommend you to have a scar revision if you see it necessaary.
The incision should be in the breast fold and if its visible in frontal profile, then it’s too low.According to me, the position is also too lateral and they are Assymetric. Overall, you may consider a full revision with placement of higher profile implants to increases the distance between nipple and breast fold which will necessitate lowering he fold and the scar will come to lie in that new fold.Alternatively, if you are happy with the position, then scar treatments and body make up might help to decrease the visibility of the scar.

Thank you for your question. With any surgical procedure and a foreign body such as an implant, there is always a risk; however, the research currently shows that the chances of breast implant illness or the implants attaching to the ribs are very minimal. I recommend speaking with a board...
