I want to go bigger but stay with the moderate profile - options?

Upsizing breast implants to 400cc size or higher profile (projection) would allow you to achieve a more augmented and fuller look and cleavage that you desire.

Hello, it is not possible to offer detailed advice without a proper assessment, including your breast dimensions, tissue thickness, sternal gap, etc. There are different reasons why a surgeon might feel that the moderate profile implants you desire are not appropriate. For example, they might be too wide to safely fit in your breasts and still have proper tissue coverage, or perhaps there is a risk of other complications like synmastia. If you reach out to your surgeon they will be able to provide the best advice about implant sizing. Thank you for your question.

Thank you for your question. Typically going up 100cc's will increase you approximately 1/2-1 cup size. As you go bigger in the implant the diameter of the implant gets bigger. This is why using a high profile implant is helpful. Surgeon's are able to get patients slightly bigger with a HP implant because is smaller in diameter and projects more. High profile implants also help re create the upper pole shape that we tend to lose as we get older. I would recommend speaking to your Surgeon again and discussing all your questions, concerns and expectations. Best of luck to you.

breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

Implant size and profile are dependent on your body type, and specifically the base width of your breast. Your chest may be too narrow to accommodate a moderate profile implant that is that wide. I similarly do not recommend any moderate profile implant over 350 cc. If a patient wishes to go larger than than, I will recommend a high profile implant.

The profile is determined by the width of your breast base and the size chosen. You may be too narrow to keep the same profile with 400 cc's. You could select the moderate plus profile and go somewhat smaller.

It is hard to give a recommendation without photos or an examination. Many surgeons have sample implants available that you can "try on" to help you get an idea of how you may look after surgery. In addition your surgeon is your personal expert and has had the benefit of examining you and discussing your goals in detail. In general if you want a more conservative "natural" look in many cases it is more obtainable with the moderate profile versus the high profile.
