I have had 255 cc moderate implants for 5 years. I want to go bigger but stay with the moderate profile. My surgeon recommended not more then 360cc unless I go high profile. I want 400cc but afraid of the augmented look with HP. Help…

Answer: Implant size Thank you for your question. Typically going up 100cc's will increase you approximately 1/2-1 cup size. As you go bigger in the implant the diameter of the implant gets bigger. This is why using a high profile implant is helpful. Surgeon's are able to get patients slightly bigger with a HP implant because is smaller in diameter and projects more. High profile implants also help re create the upper pole shape that we tend to lose as we get older. I would recommend speaking to your Surgeon again and discussing all your questions, concerns and expectations. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Implants The profile is determined by the width of your breast base and the size chosen. You may be too narrow to keep the same profile with 400 cc's. You could select the moderate plus profile and go somewhat smaller.

Many surgeons have sample implants available that you can "try on" to help you get an idea of how you may look after surgery. In addition your surgeon is your personal expert and has had the benefit of examining you and discussing your goals in detail. In general if you want a more conservative "natural" look in many cases it is more obtainable with the moderate profile versus the high profile.
