Help! Columella strut has given me a wide big columella (Rhinoplasty)

Help! My surgeon has given me a very wide hanging columella During my tiplasty due to adding a columella strut. I am seeking revision. I also believe my columella skin is too prominent anyway. What can be done to remedy these?

How long are you out from surgery. It takes 4-6 months for the swelling to subside. One can narrow your foot plates which are at the bottom of you columella and make the strut thinner.

The cartilaginous graft used as a columellar strut can be easily removed and that will help reduce the size of the columella.RegardsDr. J

It would be helpful to know how long ago your surgery was.  Swelling is a definite factor post rhinoplasty, and often times the final result of the procedure can not be evaluated for about a year.  Be patient and allow the time to recover.  If still present after the year, then have your surgeon evaluate your nose and devise a plan to correct your concerns.  Best of luck!

You did not mention when your surgery was. If it was recent, then swelling can definitely contribute to the fullness in the columella.
