Repost: 2 months away from surgery and can't decide on 240 vs 275 cc (moderate pro). 5'9", 130 lbs, 34B cup current, and very active so seeking a modest size for frame/lifestyle. The 275 cc in the Vector imaging intimidates me a bit as being too large but surgeon highly suggests this size. I KNOW there is a small difference in the 240 but I'm also afraid I will regret this will be too small once said and done. Any second opinions? (Please be nice) Inspiration photo included.
Answer: Surgery Both should work well for you and there is a small difference between the two. Go back to your surgeon and ask to try on both sies so you can see. Otherwise, go with the larger implant.

Answer: Choosing the Right Breast Implant Size: 240cc vs 275cc - Insights for an Informed Decision Hi BREHOPE, Thank you for reaching out with your query about choosing between 240 cc and 275 cc breast implants, and for sharing your history and pictures. Your concern about selecting the right implant size is a common one, and it's crucial to make an informed decision. After reviewing your pictures and considering your vector imaging, I lean towards recommending the 275 cc implants for you. Given your body frame, the 240 cc implants may appear relatively smaller than you might desire. It's a frequent observation that many breast augmentation patients later wish they had opted for a slightly larger size. This preference generally stems from the goal of achieving a more noticeable enhancement while maintaining a natural and proportionate look. The decision to go for a larger implant size, in this case, 275 cc, aligns with this common patient sentiment. However, it's also essential to consider factors such as your lifestyle, the look you aim to achieve, and how you envision yourself post-surgery. Remember, this advice is based on general observations and the information you've provided. It's always best to have a thorough discussion with your plastic surgeon, considering your personal goals and physical characteristics, to make the final decision. I hope this guidance assists you in deciding whether to choose 240 cc or 275 cc breast implants. Trusting your instincts and consulting closely with your surgeon will lead you to the best choice for your body and aspirations. Wishing you the best in your journey towards this exciting change. Sincerely, J. Timothy Katzen, MD, FASMBS, FICS Plastic and Aesthetic Surgeon

Answer: The problem with simulation software Although recently validated in one of our scientific journals as one of two accurate implant selection methods, simulation software does not give the prospective patient any idea how they will look in clothing, nor true visualization of proportion, both of which are much more important indicators of patient satisfaction with implant size after surgery. Demand low tech from your surgeon: purpose built sizers for you to wear under a tight fitting unpadded bra and shirt top. You will feel much more confident with your implant selection.

Answer: Choosing the right size and profile breast implants for you. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size breast implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon' s experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what is right for them.
