Is it normal for my breasts to feel "tight" in the morning only?

Hello Kgar0862. Congratulations on your breast augmentation! Yes, this is normal to have muscle spasms and these are always worse in the morning. It is early in the recovery period. Both muscle spasm and tightness are normal symptoms at this stage of your recovery.  Most patients will feel some degree of tightness in the morning from not moving much throughout the night.  This will improve as you move around and go about your day. Of course if you are having severe pain or noticing increased swelling or changes in the breasts on one side more than the other it is important to go see you surgeon.

This is very normal. In the weeks and sometimes months after surgery, the breasts will remain swollen. During the day, the swelling goes down when the fluid drains from the chest. When you sleep, the fluid redistributes back to the chest, making the breast feel tight. This will improve over time.

Hi Kgar, I completely agree with Dr. Blinski here in that it's always best to follow up directly with your plastic surgeon with all your post operative concerns.  In general however it is not uncommon to feel tightness or pain in the breast area just eight days after your breast augementation procedure.  Very best to you. -Brian Coan, MD, FACS

This is a common symptom, and should not be a cause for alarm. The swelling and tightness often resolves during the day with gravity assist. All the best. 

It is normal to feel some tightness early in the morning since you have been laying down. As you stand up, the implant can fall away from the muscle somewhat, and some tissue swelling and fluid can drop down further away from the muscle. As you heal, this tightness will improve.

It is normal after submuscular breast augmentation to have muscle spasms especially in the morning. These post op effects will subside with time. Continue to see your plastic surgeon.
