I am 48 years old and want to get a chin lipo. I am worried about how my skin will look after the lipo do to skin elasticity. Do you recommend chin lipo or other treatmenta due to my age.
Answer: Chin Contouring with VASER, ThermiRF, Coolsculpting, Kybella, Thermage, Ultherapy, Exilis, J plasma/Renuvion/Inmode BodyTite I find that VASER liposuction in combination with Renuvion or ThermiRF are best for contouring the chin in those who are candidates, but Kybella can be used as an alternative and gets better results when combined with Thermage/Ultherapy/Exilis, TruSculpt iD, or Coolsculpting. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Depends The answer to this question depends on a lot of factors. You should be seen in person and examined to determine which procedure fits your anatomy, skin quality, etc. I have treated some patients in their 40s who did great with submental liposuction and radiofrequency skin tightening (facetite and morpheus8), and some patients who absolutely needed a full facelift and necklift to treat their submental excess.

Answer: Chin liposuction Dear Russi74, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Skin elasticity after chin liposuction, age 48 At age 48, that is a very good question. The skin tone in your neck will determine which procedure to perform. If you have loose and inelastic skin in the neck, simple liposuction alone will only make your problem worse, not better. Depending upon your skin tone, you may actually need a lower face and neck lift procedure if you have loose and inelastic skin in the neck. A full set of facial and neck photographs are required to make a determination about how best to proceed

Answer: Chin and neck liposuction at age 48 48 is on the verge of being a potential good candidate for Liposuction. there are also lots of other variables to consider. Most people who request chin and neck Liposuction tend to have amendable that is small compared to their Maxilla. They typically have a dental overbite occlusion, and profile pictures the upper lip will have more forward to projection than the lower lip and I host of other variables that come with this type of facial skeletal imbalance. You didn’t include pictures but it’s simply my clinical observation that almost 100% of patients seeking this treatment have some issue with their mandible in relationship to their maxilla. At age 50 most patients have lost enough skin elasticities that removing fat can have a negative consequences on how the skin looks. The amount of fat available to remove also has a big impact on what potential results can look like. Removing fat can expose the underlying platysma muscle and individuals who may have platysmal bands that are hidden by the subcutaneous fat layer may all of a sudden see these bands that were there all along. Regarding a long-term quality result a lot of patients would do much better with a well done facelift. A facelift is in reality and neck lift and only treats the lower 1/3 of the face and neck. Delivering consistent quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe in this includes plastic surgeons. Plastic surgeons tend to Think they are better at Liposuction than they actually are and average Liposuction Work leaves something to be desired. Individuals who have mastered body contouring with Liposuction and can deliver consistent quality results may be able to do a very nice job for you but with that pictures we really can’t access your candidacy. My standard go to answer for your question is patients age 50 or more should avoid chin and neck liposuction and opt for a facelift. If you opt for liposuction then you need to be careful and select the most talented an experience provider. Do that I have a multiple in person consultations avoiding virtual consultations when possible. I recommend patient stay local whenever possible for elective surgical procedures. During in person consultations ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures for this procedure. Being shown a handful of pre-selected pictures which most likely represent the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding over the average results look like in the hands of each provider. You should especially ask to see as many pictures as possible of patients with similar facial characteristics especially those in your age bracket. Getting a stellar outcome on a 21-year-old does not mean they can deliver those type of results on a 48-year-old. An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures of this common procedure. Continue having in person consultations until you feel like you found the provider who will serve your needs best. this will also get you a chance to talk to providers about alternative procedures and discuss pros and cons of each. Liposuction results are permanent and more or less irreversible. if done poorly it can be very difficult to correct the outcome. Find the right plastic surgeon and everything falls into place.
