Hi DBRD12.At two weeks is when you will see the maximum effect from you injection. You will get better results if you take care of your skin. Consider a gentle chemical peel and microneedling. Hello,Thank you for your question. If this was your first injection with Dysport you may not see that line go away completely. It may take several treatments before it softens completely, and even then it might not be totally gone. You might need to eventually put a little filler in there, but its best to give it time and wait and see. Good luck!

It can take up to two weeks to see the final result of the Dysport treatment.  The product's effects will wear off gradually over the next 3-4 months.  If you are not satisfied with the result you can consider using a small amount of filler the enhance the effect of the treatment.  Chemical peels, lasers or microneedling will help improve skin tone and texture.

Thank you for your question. What I like to inform my patients of on their first treatment is to start with the standard units of Dysport in the area of concern. The area you are asking about is the Glabella (in between eyebrows) typically using 50 units. Some patients muscle structure are stronger and can require a little more if needed in 2 weeks after initial injection. Dysport will soften the area as it causes a temporary reduction in muscle activity. However over the years you have formed these lines with your facial expressions that do not always go completely away even after they soften.  Dysport will help with these lines as (maintenance) to keep them from getting any deeper reducing that muscle activity if you keep up with your appointments every 4-6 months. Most of my patients that still have these "Resting Lines" after their Dysport we will use a filler to smooth them out with, such as Belotero or Restylane Silk.

Thank you for your question. Dysport is a neuromodulator which treats what are called dynamic wrinkles - wrinkles that come about as a result of muscle movement. Static wrinkles are wrinkles that can be seen without movement. Neuromodulators will soften and prevent static wrinkles from getting deeper but not necessarily eliminate them. If you are still able to frown then you need a higher dose of Dysport next time. Realize when injecting neuromodulators, we are not injecting the lines. We are injecting the muscles that cause the movement that creates the lines. You have probably seen the full effect of your injections at this point in time. I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

Occasionally when a line has been present for many, many years, the crease from the line is still visible even after the muscles are no longer moving. In other words, your face is no longer making the wrinkle but the line is so etched in, it is still visible even though it is flat. The example I give is that when you fold a piece of paper and crease it, when you unfold it the crease is still there even though it is flat. When this occurs, I recommend that patients put some filler in to the crease. This plumps it up and makes the crease not visible. Frequently, once this is done once, it does not need to be repeated as long as you maintain your Dysport or Botox treatments.

If you can still move the muscles when you try to scowl, then you would respond better to a higher dose of Dysport the next time you receive it.  If, however, you have little or no movement, than a higher dose is not going to achieve anything. 
The lines that are present when you are not scowling (called static lines) usually do not go completely away until you receive Dysport 3 or 4  times.  However, they should significantly soften with each treatment.  I tell my patients to return for their next appointment within a few weeks of noticing that their movement is returning.  If the muscles return to full movement in between appointments, then you are starting all over each time and the lines will not ever go completely away.
If you don't want to wait for 3 or 4 treatments, you can always have a little filler injected into the remaining lines.  Be sure that only an experienced injector does this, as this area does have a higher possibility of side effects than do other area.

Thank you for your question and for submitting your photo.  Generally speaking, neuromodulators like Dysport are most effective for treating dynamic lines - that is to say, lines that are present with facial movements and expressions.  Lines that are present at rest, without any facial movements, will not fully respond to a single Dysport treatment.  If you continue to receive regular Dysport treatments 3-4 times per year, you may notice some additional softening of these lines.Deeper, etched-in lines often require a combination of treatments for best results. A combination of Dysport or Botox, skin resurfacing lasers (which stimulate collagen production in the skin), and fillers (which can be injected to fill in the lines themselves) often provides the best results.  As others have mentioned, filler injections in the forehead are a very advanced technique, and should only be performed by expert injectors.  I would suggest scheduling a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist to discuss your concerns and to determine the best treatment plan for you.  Best of luck!

Thanks for sharing your question. Wrinkles relaxers such as Dysport and Botox will soften wrinkles related to muscle activity. However, static lines, which are lines seen at rest, will not completely resolve after a single neuromodulator treatment. Filler can be injected into these lines to improve the lines at rest but this should be done by an experienced injector because of vasculature in this area of the face. I would also combine the injectables with a retinol. Over time, you will see the static lines improve with Botox/Dysport and retinol alone. You will see quicker improvement if filler is also added.
