How long does Dysport last? (Photos)

Question

How long for Dysport to wear off? Eyes super sensitive to sunlight. Can't hold eyes open in sunlight without sunglasses. One eye won't shut all the way. Layers of wrinkles under eyes when I smile that we're not there before. Wish I had never gotten. I think to much was administered. When it wears off will it be normal again? I had 21 units between eyes. Not sure how much on crows feet or under eye.

Dysport typically lasts about 3-4 months. 21 units between the eyes is not too much if it's dysport units. It may be difficult to hold your eyes open in sunlight as the muscles that you use to squint/reduce brightness are now paralyzed due to the Dysport. As for the wrinkles underneath the eyes, that can sometimes become more prominent after treatment of the crow's feet due to compensatory hyperactivity. In other words, because one part of the muscle is selectively paralyzed, the other parts will work/contract harder which is likely the cause of the new under eye lines. Once the product wears off, your facial expressions should return back to baseline.Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question. I’m sorry to hear that you aren’t happy with your Dysport® results. Fortunately, Dysport® is only a temporary treatment and your results should fully wear off in 4 to 6 months. It sounds as if the product may have been injected improperly, as Dysport® should not prevent your eyes from shutting or create more wrinkles. It’s unclear from your post how long ago you had your treatment. Dysport® results can take up to 2 weeks to fully develop and it’s possible that some of the adverse effects will fade once your final results set in. Good luck!

I'm sorry you are unhappy with your Dysport results.  In general the treatment will wear off gradually over about 3 months.  The amount you stated you received in the glabella area is much lower than typical.  I recommend returning to your injector for an evaluation and discussion of your concerns.

Typically the effects of Dysport last 4-6 months. Some people it may last less  due to the individuals metabolism. 21 units is a small amount considering the average for the Glabella (in between the eyebrows) is 50 units. I would however call the office you had your procedure at for a follow up visit so you can voice your concerns with your injector. Dysport will start to kick in in 4 days, full effect 14 days. Good thing is it will wear off.

Typically the effects of Dysport will gradually dissipate over 3-4 months. The results are never permanent. I am unable to see exactly what your concerns are from the pictures. I would try another provider. The poor results shouldn't sway you from further treatments. 21 units in the glabella is a very small dose. Results from Dysport should be similar to those of Botox. In my practice, Dysport is more popular by far.
