Bruising after Xeomin in forehead, 2 weeks post op, what should I do?

There are many factors (alcohol consumption, past medical history etc) that may contribute to bruising other than injection technique, so a refund is doubtful. You may want to try over the counter Arnika to assist with bruising. Good luck

Some bruising is typical after injections. It will gradually resolve. Arnica and VBeam treatments will give improvement. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

When you start to experience the signs of aging, Xeomin are available to diminish unwanted wrinkles and creases in your face. Xeomin lock the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, which triggers the muscle contractions that create wrinkles. Xeomin essentially paralyze the muscles and stops them from contracting. Results from these treatments are visible within 3-7 days with results that can last anywhere from 3-4 months. Bruising typically will last about 2 weeks, whether it be from injections or bumping your knee into a coffee table. Follow up with your injector at 2 weeks if you have any questions or concerns. There’s always a possibility of bruising but it usually resolves within 2 weeks. However, if 2 weeks go by and bruising hasn’t gone away follow up with your provider.

Xeomin would not be the cause for bruising, the bruising would be from the needle at the injection site. Bruising is always a risk when you are doing any type on injectable. If you had a reaction from Xeomin, you would have had the same reaction from Botox. 
Bruising can last 2 weeks or more depending on the person. There are ways to help prevent bruising prior to your next injectable treatment, such as taking arnica tablets 4 days prior to your treatment day.

It is important to understand that bruising is a risk any time a needle is introduced into the skin, regardless of the substance being injected. Bruising can take up to 2 weeks to clear, perhaps a bit longer depending on the area of the face. It is important to review all medications and supplements you are taking with your injector prior to injection, to pause anything that may increase bruising risk. Re: "wrinkles all over" still, it is very important to return to your injector and review the results. If photos were taken before (as they always should be), review those photos with your injector. Xeomin is a more purified product than Botox, and acts a bit differently. Because of this, if you were a long-time Botox user and this is your first Xeomin, it may just be a matter of getting the dosage tweaked. All the best to you!

You can have bruising after any injection.  Bruises usually resolve completely in 2 weeks and shouldn't effect the efficacy of the Xeomin.  I take a lot of care to minimize bruising by looking carefully for any veins that can be seen and avoid them, but some are tiny and you can't see them all, so there is always some risk for bruising.

Bruising can happen after xeomin injections especially in the delicate tissues and fine blood vessels around the eyes. Your chances of bruising are also higher if you take any blood thinners, NSAIDS, vitamin E, fish oil, or certain herbal supplements. The bruising tends to settle in the area right below the eye due to gravity and at this point applying warm compresses, IPL or laser treatment can make it go away faster.

Sorry you got bruises following your wrinkle blocker injections (Xeomin).  This can happen from time to time.  Certain supplements (fish oil), NSAIDS (ibuprofen), and even alcohol can cause our blood to be thinner and be more prone to bruising.  I'm not sure why you didn't have a good response since you have in the past.  Bottle strength can vary by as much as 10%, but not knowing your dosing or locations it makes it difficult to assess.  At our practice we offer IPL (intense pulsed light) treatments if bruising occurs at no additional cost.  Check with your injector and go over your concerns.  Stay with quality injectors with excellent reputation and reviews.  Groupon is not the way to go when it comes to medical procedures.  Best regards.
