I’m 42, and wanted to look less old and tired so I decided to have Restylane done in my eye troughs 7 days ago. Beyond the bruising, there’s bumps, and part of inner eye or sinus area is swollen too! Is this normal? Did the filler go to the wrong place on my left eye? A cannula needle was used to help prevent bruising, but clearly something happened. Plus my plastic surgeon is out of the country so I can’t get in to see them. What’s next? Time, dissolved, laser, more fill? Help!

Answer: Under eye filler You need a little more time to heal. Looks like you got a pretty dark bruise and likely had a lot of swelling initially. Wait until it has been 2 full weeks before returning to you doctor to be re-evaluated. Many small imperfections improve with the 2 full weeks as small amounts of swelling can last a while and make filler look lumpy.

Answer: Eye trough restylane injecting the eye trough is always somewhat tricky as the skin is thin and the area very sensitive. getting bruised after a canulla is unusual but not rare. as long as there is bruising you cannot evaluate the treatment. wait for all bruising to disappear. there is some migration posssible (spread of product) but rarely significant especially with a well experienced injector. the bumps should not be there. your injector should be able to correct the bumps with hylenex. Good luck
