Why is my lip filler presenting large hard lumps after a month?

Had 1ml of Restylane Kysse by a qualified nurse, I’ve never had filler before. Presented several lumps on lip and wet inside area of lip after, was told it was swelling and would subside. After few weeks, still lumps, sore to massage, told it was just swelling and continue to be patient. After a month, still swollen in same areas, hard and painful when massaged. I also have noticed lip volume disappearing in places, like the filler may have migrated. I have no allergies, immune issues.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are having.  It is difficult to determine possible causes without an examination.  You can elect to have the filler dissolved by returning to your injector for hyaluronidase.

There can be some swelling and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1 to 2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 minutes at a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

You should return to your injector to discuss options for dissolving.  I want to be clear on what product you had injected- Restylane Kysse is not on the market in the US yet (it is in Europe) and will not be released until likely 2020 sometime.  Did you have this treatment overseas?   If you are going to a different physician in the US I would discuss products that are available and FDA approved.  Please ask where the Kysse  product is coming from.

It sounds like the filler was not injected evenly and you are feeling pockets of filler and at this late time it is probably not going to even out with massage,. you can either wait it out and it will go away or have hyaluronidase injected to dissolve it and then start over. See a board certified dermatologist
