Was my Restylane injected in the wrong place? Hard lump, possible reversal? (photo)

Thank you for your question and picture. Based on your picture, I agree that it appears the filler was injected too high and too superficially. It appears you may have the Tyndall effect which is a bluish discoloration that can be seen with superficial injection of Hyaluronic Acid based fillers, though it is hard to tell for sure. It is way too early after your injections to know what your final result will be. You can try some firm massage in the area to see if it helps. If it doesn't get better after 2 weeks then I would recommend dissolving the filler with an enzyme called Hyaluronidase and then starting over with a more experienced injector. Hope this helps!

Hi Birdie,  I suggests you wait at least 2 weeks before seeing your final result. If you are still unhappy you can have Restylane reversed with Hyaluronidase.

Bruising and swelling can occur with Restylane injections. Avoid strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours and keep your head elevated. You may want to use Arnica and Bromelain to help symptoms resolve more quickly. If after two weeks you still have concerns you can consider having it dissolved.
