I would allow for 7-10 days of good, recovery possiblylonger depending on how quickly your body heals. Your splint will be removed in 7 days.Minor swelling will gradually diminish over several months to a year. You canresume exercisingat 3-4 weeks. You will need to protect your nose; it is best to avoid anyactivity thatcould result in damage to your nose throughout your recovery. I would talk toyourBoardCertified Plastic Surgeon on when you are able to go back to school postRhinoplasty surgery.
Thanks for the question.I recommend you to stay home for at least 10 days to avoid unnecessary risks, then you can go to school and have care with your nose. Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol.-
Most people can go back to school one week after rhinoplasty. However you cannot involved in active sports for 3-6 weeks after surgery.RegardsDr. J
The answer is it depends. Usually most, if not all of the bruising will be gone by 10 days. Most surgeons will remove the cast at the one week mark; however, the bigger issue is that your nose will still be swollen significantly at that time, and it may be obvious to your friends and classmates that you had something done. If that's ok by you, then fine. Otherwise, you may want to schedule it for when you have more down time, like 2-3 weeks or so. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. In my practice I normally leave a splint on for at least a week. The bruising is variable depending on the patient. In terms of actually going back to school, 10 days should be fine, but there may be some bruising and swelling still present which is something to keep in mind. All the best
Most of us plastic surgeons following most rhinoplasties applied a splint for about a week. This helps stabilize the bones in the cartilage if it has been shifted during the course of the surgery. It also serves to decrease swelling. It is not uncommon following removal of the external splint to apply some tape to keep the swelling down. Bruising tends to last about a week. Going back to school depends on one's tolerance for showing up with a bandage on the nose following surgery. Most take about a week off prior to returning to school.
It is acceptable to go back to school 10 days after a rhinoplasty procedure, however there may still be some visible bruising and swelling still present. Depending upon the amount of bruising that occurs, it can take upwards of 14 days to subside. It important not to exercise for 2 weeks after the procedure to prevent a nose bleed, and avoid contact sports for 6 weeks
It depends when you have it and when you go back to school. You likely will have a splint for a week. Bruising can last 1-2 weeks for most. Swelling will persist but you can go back to school. Check with your surgeon.
Returning to school after rhinoplasty really depends upon how bruised or swollen you are after surgery. Most rhinoplasty patients have a splint on their nose for a week after surgery. At that point the splint is removed. Some people may still have bruising but it should be resolving at that point. Ten days should be enough time for most to return to school or work. There are rare instances where it can take longer but that is unusual.
When to return to school is variable depending on what was done. The best source of this information is your own surgeon. In a typical full rhinoplasty, I encourage patients to take off 2 weeks. Patients need to refrain from most gym activities for at least a month, or more, for contact sports.
A full set of facial photographs are required to make any determination about what can and cannot be performed to narrow a wide nose. In many instances, thick skin is a significant contributor to the width of the nose, so it is very important to have realistic expectations with what can and ...

Thank you for your question. You may try some nasal saline spray from Boots and that should help loosen the blood clot.Ivo
