Dr. Jacob Steiger, MD is a double board-certified plastic surgeon in Boca Raton, Florida. He is committed to the highest standards of patient care and treatment innovation, and is best known for his work performing highly technical deep plane facelift surgery and rhinoplasty, including revision rhinoplasty. After receiving both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Miami, Dr. Steiger went on to complete his surgical training at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is board certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Steiger is one of very few physicians in the South Florida area that focuses exclusively on surgery of the face and nose, and has shared his expertise with multiple media outlets, including The New York Times.
I had the best experience ever with Dr. Steiger. It started the day I had my first consultation. Every member of staff was so kind, accommodating, and helpful. I never had a single bad experience with anyone there, he truly has an amazing staff. Upon my consultation, I only had a vague idea of what I wanted in my nose. Simply something more proportional to my face. He took one look and it was as if he could read my mind. He gave me the nose I should have been born with. Everything about my nose today is proportional to the rest of my face without looking surgical. I was always worried about plastic surgery making me look fake, but the results could not be more different. I look so natural, as if my nose has never been touched. As far as my scars, those have faded and are not noticeable. I also received a chin augmentation (implant) in the same surgery. I highly recommend doing both together if both are wanted/needed. This second surgery assured more proportional features in my face and I could not be happier with the results. Dr. Steiger is a genius.
I had primary rhinoplasty to address crookedness, a nasal hump, and drooping tip. I almost didn’t pick him because my consultation felt rushed and most of the consult time was actually with his staff instead of him. I totally thought his staff were just being friendly and shooting the breeze with me while we waited for him. In the end, I went with him based on his surgical results and because he doesn’t pack your nose after surgery. I travelled across the US for the surgery and spent 10 days recovering in a hotel (family member also stayed with me for the first 5 days to assist and make sure I didn’t have to get out of bed too much) before I got on a plane to go back home. I had minimal bleeding after surgery but much more cheek/chin/nasal tip swelling and persistent pain than I had expected. I took Arnica tablets per the package instructions. You literally cannot and should not talk in the days after surgery. Forget about smiling for like a month- it just hurts too much when your top lip is stretched. I was terrified of sneezing and managed to prevent it for about 2 months through sheer fear and using heavy breathing when I felt about to sneeze. My lips were swollen, cracked, and excessively peeling because of the mouth breathing- apply lip balm and then Vaseline on your lips about every 2 hours with a qtip. Be patient with the nose tip swelling. I felt like my nose tip looked mashed and big for the first 1 to 2 months. I'm now 6.5 months post-surgery and I’m 90% happy with the results. The nasal hump is virtually nonexistent, the frontal view looks straight, and the droopy tip I disliked in my profile view is now gone. My nasal tip is still somewhat numb and uncomfortable to touch but it’s getting better each month. I wish my nostrils were slightly more symmetrical and that I could breathe better through the nostril that looks more narrow. I know it’s common to get fixated on minor issues after facial surgery and am trying to not let the asymmetry mess with my overall satisfaction. I’ve expressed my concern to Dr. Steiger at follow ups and he told me the nostril asymmetry is not noticeable and that the frontal straightness is more important. I recommend him but give 4 stars because for $17.5K, I had hoped to be 100% satisfied.
My lip lift was a part of a deep plane face lift/neck lift procedure with Dr. Steiger. I am very glad I did it as it took my overall rejuvenation results to the next level. I highly recommend it, because it changes your aging face appearance dramatically with a minimal change in proportion of the upper lip. Once of the advantages of the lip lift is also added fullness to the upper lip, that is permanent (no fillers needed). I never used neither Botox nor fillers in my life and I am glad I didn’t. It was crucial in achieving the best natural results possible, because tissues of my face were not scarred or altered due to fillers in any way. This is something to keep in mind if you are considering surgery. I had zero pain after lip lift (I know that varies from person to person). I was using painkillers for my facelift though, but I almost “forgot” I had also a lip lift done! The scars are barely visible and very thin and will continue to improve. Super happy overall!
Dr. Steiger performed an endoscopic brow lift and rhinoplasty/septoplasty a little over a month ago. I’m absolutely ecstatic with the results (which are far superior to anything I could have imagined and even better than the computer images I was shown at my consult). Importantly, he took detailed input on what I was looking for and made it happen. I had minimal pain post op and his staff has been amazing at answering all my questions. I highly recommend Dr. Steiger!
It took me good 5 years to finally pull the trigger and go for a facelift surgery. I had a lip lift was done at the same time that took the transformation even further. A total makeover. I can’t be happier. Do your research and go for it. The recovery is lengthy, but well worth it. Expect a considerable amount of pain for the few days immediately after surgery. I am 7 weeks post-op and even though still have a long way to go- I can’t believe the transformation- I literally look 15 years younger. Good luck everyone! Updated on 19 Jul 2023: I forgot to mention that I’m 55 years old and my facelift was a DEEP PLANE facelift, the most advanced in terms of longevity and natural appearance. That was my choice, but it requires a careful selection of your plastic surgeon. Make sure they specialize in that kind of facelift and do it a lot. Dr. Steiger is the best! Updated on 11 Nov 2023: Side view pics by the surgeon office. Most swelling is gone, slight tightness in the neck area still present. Full sensation is regained in the incision areas. I am extremely happy with the results, comparing to my pics from 15 years ago old I look pretty much the same. It’s crazy. Thankful to my Dr. and his team for an amazing job the’ve done. Full healing is expected at 6 months post op. I’m getting there! Even though deep plane facelift is reserved for older patients and more severe sagging cases - I’m still happy I chose it, because it provides much more lasting results compared to SMAS only facelifts. Lip lift has been an “icing on the cake” that took my rejuvenation results to the next level. I had no idea those couple of millimeters eight make such a drastic difference in terms of my face proportions and make me look so much younger
Did quite a bit of research in Dallas and Florida to find the best for the Deep Plane Facelift and was elated to find Dr. Steiger in Boca Raton. Do your homework to understand the difference between the standard SMAS and the Deep Plane lifts. His technique is genius and his team is amazing and caring. I look 20 years younger after only 3 months! I had the Deep Plane Facelift, neck lift, endoscopy brow lift, CO2 laser and fat transfer to the lower lids. No pain, just numbness and tightness, which is normal. Check out his website before and after photos to see there are no changes to the ear shape or position, no visible scarring, etc. Can only recommend Dr. Steiger to everyone!
I just had a deep plane facelift with fat transfer, CO2 laser, upper and lower blepheroplasty, chin implant, and Kysse lip injections (because at this point, why not). I'm a 52 year old woman and the last few years my face aged significantly. My biggest complaint, however, was my saggy neck. My face was starting to look drawn out and gaunt and I was genuinely bothered that my face didn't match my youthful personality. You walk into that office and from the ladies at the front desk, to the amazing nurses and staff, you are treated like you're family. I seriously think they were just as excited as I was. Dr. Steiger has an amazing presence that just makes you trust him. As skilled and busy as he is, he is patient and kind. I would have expected a little cockiness, but nope... just confident and honest. I am embarrassed to admit that I showed him a picture of myself with a filter and said "can you make me look like this?" He said "no" but I think any doctor that would make unrealistic promises is someone you should run from. He said "I can make your neck 97% better" and that sounded great to me! I had a bunch of hurdles along the way- covid hit when I was initially scheduled, and then I had some medical issues due to anemia. The office was very patient as I jumped through the necessary hoops in order to be cleared medically for surgery. Luz, the nurse, spent a tremendous amount of time preparing me for surgery. I was terrified of pain and, honestly, so many of the concerns I had, in hindsight, were silly. I have an extremely low pain threshold, for example, and can't handle a sunburn so I thought, for sure, I would be in significant pain. The morning of surgery I was ready. Sort of ready. Worried but ready. The nurse was wonderful, the anesthesiologist was lovely, and Dr. Steiger walked in and I felt a sense of calm come over me (the mild sedative helped too, lol). I knew I was in the best hands and I 100000% knew that at that moment, when he said "Team Steiger" he was just as excited for my transformation. He marked my face up, did my hair in baby pigtails haha and into the OR I went. I hopped on the table, the anesthesiologist started the IV, Dr. Steiger walked in and asked me to move my head up and then next thing I knew, I was in the car going home. Zero nausea (one of my main concerns since I had an hour long ride) and home to heal. The first 3-4 days I looked a mess, but honestly there was ZERO pain. The worst of it, if I had to say there was a bad part, is wearing a compression garment and the feeling of aquaphor on my face. NO PAIN. This is coming from a person who cried from lip injections. NO PAIN. I went in the following 2 days for Dr. Steiger to check me out and all was good. Yesterday was my 1 week post op and I practically skipped and twirled in there. I was met by staff who treated me like family and were genuinely excited about my results thus far. SO AM I! AMAAAAZING! My skin hasn't looked this beautiful since I was in my 20s. My neck exceeded my expectations! I cannot wait to wake up every morning and look in awe of this transformation. I know I have several months until I see the final results, but if I can't even imagine feeling any happier than I do right now. If you are considering this, do not look at anyone else. If you are concerned about the price and shopping around for a better price, you should wait. This is your face. You want a specialist. The Dr. who did my breast augmentation does faces, but NO WAY would I go to anyone for my face that is not skilled like Dr. Steiger. I feel like my face matches my personality.... I feel like he not only stopped the clock, but turned it back 15 years... at least. He is OUTSTANDING!!!!!
I cant even put in words how amazing he is. I cant believe he is 4.9 out of 5 He is definitely a 5 of 5 !! I feel deeply sorry for the haters that gave him bad reviews! This person is an amazing surgeon and he gave me the best nose ever! I will be completely honest i had few first months i wasnt super happy and he told me please wait and u will thank me eventually! And yes it took me a year and half with some ups and downs but today i can tell you i have an amazing natural nose! No one can see its a surgery! And thanks god i listen to him and didnt make it smaller cause it will look fake ! His hands and skills are gold! Thank you
Dr. Steiger is an expert at the top of the cosmetic surgery field who employs the latest techniques for surgically restoring the aging face. I would describe what Dr.Steiger offers his patients as an elegant solution to the inevitable sagging that will affect everyone once they reach a certain age -specifically when Botox and fillers can’t solve for certain issues like jowls and loss of mid face volume. I highly recommend the deep plane face and neck lift, upper bleph/brow lift and Co2 laser to hit all the target areas and shave off a good 10 years while also achieving natural results. For eye rejuvenation - deep plane facelift patients may need the brow lift; other patients may need upper bleph to open and brighten the eyes. I had the upper bleph, whereas 2 other people who also women I know who are his patients had the brow lift. This speaks to his nuanced and customized approach with consideration to each person’s features, bone structure, skin elasticity and other factors. Anyone considering surgery on their face needs to enter into it with a positive mindset of trusting in their doctor. Dr.Steiger is without question the person you don’t have to worry or stress about at all and can implicitly trust. I can speak for myself - and 2 other patients I reference above and have seen up close (including their nearly invisible scars hidden behind the tragus at 4 mo post op) that we are beyond thrilled with our results. If you come across a bad review, I would skim past and really think about the breadth and depth of his excellent work and what he provided to thousands of patients; many so thrilled yet also busy that it would never occur to them to write a lengthy positive review. I decided to write this because I saw a vicious website that aggregates bad reviews into one place suddenly popped up when I was googling the office phone number. If you happen to see it, this site exists to extort doctors to pay a fee to remove them- and it just completely inaccurate on its face to see a few bad reviews scraped from various places over many years and misrepresented in such a manipulated and hateful manner.Happy to answer any questions.
A week ago Dr Steiger performed a rhinoplasty/septoplasty on me. The decision to proceed with surgery was made after years of consideration and many, many consultations with plastic surgeons and ents between New York and Florida. Beyond having insecurities with the physical appearance of my nose, I was having functional difficulties as well. I had previous trauma and would wake up with headaches daily and constant sinus issues that ents explained to me stemmed from my deviated and impacted septum.Even though I had more than enough reasons to do the surgery, I was held back by fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of the outcome, fear of anesthesia…. just irrational fear. I am leaving this review for anyone who may be in a similar predicament. Dr. Steiger was my answer. From the day I initially met Dr. Steiger I realized he was different and his process was unlike others. I was surprised to learn he did most of his surgeries under twilight anesthesia (conscious sedation). He explained to me he felt this offered patients a better recovery. This was appealing to me as I am someone who comes out of general anesthesia very nauseous and sick.He also informed me he wouldn’t pack my nose which alleviated other fears as I had heard that was the most uncomfortable part. Overall, I found Dr. Steiger’s approach and bedside manner to be very different and exactly what I needed to ease my fears and feel comfortable putting my life and appearance in his hands. He really took the time to make sure I understood what was achievable aesthetically and that we were on the same page with my expectations.Beyond being compassionate and understanding he is truly talented in his work. I won’t see the final results of my procedure for quite some time because of swelling, but what he has done to change the aesthetics of my nose is unbelievable. When I woke up from the surgery I could breathe again - it was incredible! When I first met Dr. Steiger he was very open and honest with me - his transparency allowed me to feel like I could trust him more so than previous doctors who weren’t so forthcoming about the possible outcome of my rhinoplasty.Dr. Steiger told me my nose was complicated and my desired result may not be achievable or realistic. This was three years ago. After that consultation I felt bummed and went on to see many other surgeons who offered similar opinions or even ones who said they wouldn’t operate on me at all. I even saw a plastic surgeon who said I would need to bring an ent in on the procedure to fix the septum issues I had while he corrected the cosmetic portion. All of this lead me back to Dr. Steiger who was able and willing to take on the entire procedure himself as an ent and facial plastic surgeon - he checked all the boxes and his experience and training were exactly what I needed! It took me a few years to mentally follow through and commit the surgery, but in those years that I consulted with other surgeons it solidified that he was my perfect fit.I am beyond thankful for his work and the way I was treated throughout the process. His office staff is incredible and have always been helpful and quick to resolve any type of question or concern. His nurses are genuine and caring which really goes a long way for someone who is struggling with fear pre op and discomfort in post op. I read every single review left for my doctor before my surgery and they are all exactly how I found him to be. In a time where filters have distorted self image Dr Steiger has given me my confidence back.I hope that sharing my experience helps someone who is in the position I was. I will continue to return to Dr. Steiger in the future for all other anti aging and preventative needs (laser, injectables) and will refer everyone I know because I am that confident in his talent and abilities. He is the only person I trust with my face. Thank you Dr. Steiger and staff this was life changing for me.
Swelling after rhinoplasty dose take a year or longer to resolve. The swelling will appear as if your nose is wider/fatter and less defined than you want it to be. The thicker the skin, the longer it takes for the nose swelling to go away. It is a process that takes time, however you should try to focus on enjoying the improvements that you already have and let nature take its course.
Long-term the endoscopic forehead lift should not change your facial expression. The procedure does raise your brows to a more elevated position, so yes that will change. However, the muscle motion should be the same as before once the swelling is resolved if the muscles are not cut during the procedure.
While the healing time from a Deep Plane Facelift is not necessarily longer than a lateral SMAS facelift, most people have about 2 to 3 weeks of social down time. This also depends on what other procedures are done along with the facelift. Most people look amazing at 6 weeks and mostly healed within 3 months. There are ways to expedite the resolution of swelling such as steroid doses and some remedies such as Arnica and Bromelain/Quercetin. Lymphatic drainage can also be beneficial. Speak to your physician about things they recommend.
Surgery always gives the most effective/impressive lifting results. However, there are a few non-surgical options. We have had great success with Ulthera of the brows to give a subtle lift. This takes a few months to see the final results, but is quick, easy and relatively a less costly option. We have seen the results last for over 2 years. Fillers can also be placed along the brow to give a subtle lift. This must be done by a very experienced injector. Finally, Botox/Dysport/Xeomin give a nice, subtle lift to the brow.
Prejowel implants can be very beneficial in enhancing the overall result of a facelift in select patients. We often perform this in patients whose faces are much fuller and have a very deep prejowel sulcus. The prejowel sulcus is a boney indentation that is in front of the jowel along the jawline. People with fuller faces usually have much more pronounced prejowel sulci and benefit from a prejowel implant along with a facelift. This should not change the recovery and is placed through the same incision under your chin as is performed with most facelifts. As always, there is no one size fits all/cookie cutter method to facelift surgery and facial rejuvenation. It is all about the right procedures that will benefit you in obtaining the best possible and most natural looking results.
