How often should I get dermaplaning if I have fair skin?

Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a scalpel blade to gently scrape off the top layer of dulling dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. This does help to prep the skin for a better treatment. Removing the excess dead skin and vellus hair (peach fuzz) allows the products to absorb better. Dermaplaning is a great exfoliation treatment to do. Typically, we recommend our patients getting a treatment every month. Unfortunately, dermaplaning is not the best treatment for pigmentation concerns. I would talk with your provider about other alternatives to help with pigmentation such as an IPL. I hope this helps!
