Does Numbskin numbing cream contain the highest level of lidocaine at 10.56% or is there another one that is higher?

I need a numbing cream that is extremely strong for an upcoming procedure. I read numbing cream comparisons on line and those recommended the most only contain 4% or 5% lidocaine. Yet Numbskin is rarely discussed and it claims to have 10.56% lidocaine. So is Numbskin in fact almost twice as high in lidocaine as other numbing creams?

Hi, Thank you for your post. We have our numbing cream compounded for us. It is Lidocaine/prilocaine 20%/Phenylep 0.25%. In order to get a stronger Lidocaine you will need a prescription.  This can only be used in small areas.

There are more potent creams available in doctors' offices, often compounded specifically to the doctors' requirements.  Lidocaine can have toxic and even fatal effects; that's why it isn't dispensed willy-nilly.

I recommend following up with your Doctor about numbing cream during your procedure. Most Doctor's will have their preferred method. In our office, we use a compounded 30% numbing cream that makes all our procedures painless. We also use oral medications and nerve blocks, when necessary.  Best,  Dr. Emer.

Interesting question, I use a triple numbing cream solution mixed with adrenaline in order to reduce bruising. It has to made by a special pharmacy though so speak to your doc before your procedure

The answer to your question is NO.  We have a 21% Lidocaine cream compounded that we use in my office.
