My surgery day is quickly approaching and we wanted to see if anyone could offer some insight on supplies they had handy. I currently have waterproof bandages to cover up my incisions once I'm able to shower, Arnica gel, 2 compression garment's so that I can switch daily to wash them. I was considering getting Bromelin. What other items would be good to have immediately available for recovery? Thanks in advance!
Answer: Supplies Such a great question, I tell my patients to ensure they have completed any signfiicant errands they need to do so you dont force yourself to run around when you are healing. I suggest getting books and magazines (unless you just want to netflix it), get all medicaitions from pharmacy, get lots of fluids to re hydrate (coconut water is best in my opinion), get maxi pads for oozing and some cheap linens that you can put out and get soiled

CONTACT NOW Answer: What liposuction recovery supplies should I gather before my surgery? Thank you for your question. I usually advise Arnica by mouth and plenty of pads (Combine or ABD Pads) in addition to what you already have. Your surgeon may send you home with some gauzes and waterproof chux pads to prevent soiling of your bed sheets as you will be leaking a lot of fluids for the first day or so. Please have your physician give your prescriptions before hand so that you can have them filled. All The Best !

Answer: Liposuction After care includes Compression, RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen I recommend following up with your Doctor about their after care protocol. I have my patients wear customized compression for 3-6 weeks straight then overnight for 3-6 months after their procedure. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Great Job Being Prepared! Patients who prepare for their recoveries following any plastic surgery procedure are less stressed on the day of surgery and can get the rest they need once they return home. It appears you've covered most of the bases in your preparation. Be sure to check with your plastic surgeon's office to see if they have any specific recommendations. You may have already done this, but it's helpful to fill any prescriptions prior to the surgery.

Answer: What liposuction recovery supplies should I gather before my surgery? Thank you for your question. It sounds as if you have done your homework in preparation of your Liposuction surgery, good for you! I advise patients to fill meditations prior to surgery so that they have them ready to go day of. I provide pads for leakage but do expect drainage for the first 24 hours. Compression garments are an important part of your recovery having two is smart on your part. Having an adult at home to care for you the first 24 hours that understands your aftercare needs is also important, as you will most likely want to rest the first day. I’d advise you speak with your surgeon regarding you specific aftercare instructions, best of luck to you.
