I had tummy tuck and lipo of back and flanks almost two weeks ago. I am having a lot of swelling in my hips to my feet. I am wearing a compression garment as well as a binder of it. I still have my drain in and am wearing compression socks. Yesterday my right leg was double the size of my left leg. Today they are the same size. I woke up to both my arms hurting like they fell asleep and after being awake and mobile my right arm still feels weird. Is this normal?

The amount of liposuction performed is key when determining how involved the procedure is as well as the difficulty level of recovery. Liposuction amounts range from 20cc-8000cc. The procedure could be standing local anesthesia for tiny areas or a lengthier procedure lasting up to several hours...
For the right patient, liposuction under local anesthesia can be a great option. It is safe to treat multiple areas under local anesthesia although the amount of fat that can be removed will be less than with liposuction under general anesthesia. Hope this helps.
