6 weeks post op BBL with 360 lipo and I've noticed that when I put on my pants I'm still flat. Am I not waiting long enough?

Should I give to process more time?I don't want a big butt but I do want projection and shape and to be able to look shaply in my jeans,scrubs etc. It this a good time to start planning for a slight round two or is that even and option for that small area on my butt? Please advise.

For most of my patients, I tell them that at 6 weeks there is still a great deal of swelling in the abdomen, sides, and back (or wherever the liposuction was performed);  and they will only look better in 6 months. About 50% of the fat that is transferred lives and becomes a part of you.  This will hold stable as long as there is no weight fluctuation.

I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a BBL surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides  you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.

Thank you for your question and photos. A BBL is a technical and artistic operation. You do concentrate  Although you are still early in your recovery, I can see that you have a  square buttock, with a ridge of fat going across the upper part, no sculpting of the upper buttock shape and gluteal cleft and excess fat laterally in the upper buttock. Your back is poorly sculpted, no definition of the waist, lower and upper back with lots of fat giving you a rectangular shape from behind. One analogy I bring up with my patients is breast reconstruction. It is not enough to place a lump of tissue on the chest wall, it has to look, feel and be shaped like an attractive breast.Although it might not be possible to add too much fat for projection, but you certainly can benefit from reshaping your body and makes the buttocks more attractive. Over 50% of my body sculpting practice is on patients who had suboptimal results from other surgeons, just like you did. You need to wait at least 6 months before considering revision surgery. lower inner 1/2 of the buttocks has more connective tissue than other parts of the body.  And some people this area lacks projection. The connective tissue is not pliable. In other words it doesn't stretch. It anchors the skin to the underlying muscle fascia.  The best analogy I can use is the skin on the palm of your hand.  If you pinch and lift the skin on the back of your hand you will notice that you can't do the same on the mid palm of your hand.  The hand has perhaps the most of this same type of connective tissue securing the skin to the underlying fascia.  This allows us to grasp and lift heavy things with great stability.  The back of the thigh and lower buttocks can also carry a great amount of weight. In fact our entire body weight when we sit.  This connective tissue doesn't expand and even when volume is added sales to give projection while the areas surrounding do project potential he making the lack of projection seem even worse.  It is the same connective tissue that causes cellulite.  People who have a flat spot before the procedure will not do well in regards to projection in the lower inner part of their buttocks.  This is predictable and can be determined before the procedure.  This inherent limitation is often blamed on the doctor grafting fat in the wrong place or simply failing to give the desired result.  In reality it is in fact the patient's own limitations and what could be achieved in the first place.  The doctor can only be blamed for their lack of insight and not explaining this to patients before hand.  My explanation of this is not seen commonly among other plastic surgeons. My practice is devoted exclusively to liposuction and fat transfer procedures. I've performed over 7000 liposuction and fat transfer procedures in my career.  I've had enough experience to recognize consistent predictable factors when it comes to candidacy of these procedures.  I've simply learned this from trial and error. I've never read it in a textbook. I believe it to be absolutely true.  It's been the case in my own patients and patients like yourself over and over confirm this by posting on real self frustrated that they didn't get the results they were hoping for or even promised.  Don't expect your results to improve with time and think twice about committing to a second round of expensive liposuction and fat transfer.  I wish I could be more optimistic.
