Question

I called my ps office they told me to leave the faja off for a couple of days. Is this normal or has this happened to anyone else? Also I had surgery in Miami and live in Vegas. Should I go to the ER or am I able to consult another PS?

to me it looks like you made have developed an infection.  If that's the case then I would consider this very serious and you should get appropriate follow-up care ASAP.  Typically  your surgeon is responsible for your aftercare so you're now in a situation that is fairly undesirable.  You can try to find a plastic surgeon to see you but based on the potential urgency you may want to go straight to the emergency room.  I continue to on a daily basis encourage people to stay local for elective surgical procedures.  People do not appreciate the importance of follow-up care, that complications actually happen or the number of people who actually need revisions.  You need to have this evaluated ASAP  Don't wait.  Don't expect local plastic surgeons to be enthusiastic about helping you. If you go to an emergency room then you may want to confirm they have a plastic surgeon are available on call.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
