Rhinoplasty: Is tip only a possibility? Do I have a long face? (Photos)

I've been interested in getting a rhinoplasty done for quite a while, and now I finally have the money to really start thinking about it. I am happy with my face overall, although I often worry I have a "long face." I think it's my nose creating that effect. My nose is long, with a very bulbous, wide tip. It spreads quite a bit when I smile, which is annoying. The nose bridge itself is straight and (I think) a nice shape. The bone doesn't seem to be misshapen, just the cartilage. Because of this, I'm considering a tip-only rhinoplasty, since the tip is the part I'm most concerned about. However, I don't know if there are other factors I'm not considering.

The length of your face does not appear to be abnormal. Your nose appears long and a tip rhinoplasty can be done to rotate the nose upward. Your nasal columella angle is at 80 degrees and should be at 110 degrees. You do have a small super tip hollow that can also be corrected at the time of the tip rhinoplasty.

It is very likely that a conservative rhinoplasty would be an option. You have to find an experienced board certified plastic surgeon with expertise in rhinoplasty for in person consultation. I do not think that you have long face. Good luck.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you are a great candidate for rhinoplasty. Maneuvers for your surgery would include dorsal hump reduction, tip refinement, nasal tip deprojection, tip elevation, among other maneuvers. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

YES, a tip only rhinoplasty can diminish size of your nasal tip, improve tip definition, and lift the tip a bit which will vertically shorten the nose perhaps improving your perception of a vertically long face.  Your face appears normal, a well done tip rhinoplasty will match your other naturally beautiful features.

Based on your photos, I would not say that you have a long facial appearance. I can appreciate that you have a wide nasal tip appearance that droops with smiling, and this is associated with a small dorsal hump. If your nasal appearance is something that causes severe dissatisfaction, please meet with several reputable rhinoplasty specialists who have large favorable before and after photo galleries, along with many favorable consumer reviews.
