I'm not wanting a dramatic change. I just want to release the scar so it’s not like a table and lower it to public hair line. Dr mentioned float belly button? But I don’t have a long torso so is that ideal? I read “You have to be the right size and a long enough waist to make it useful” I do NOT want very little space between scar and button. Dont want to look pulled down. Want to bend and still have some rolls. I just wanted the flap gone and smoother transition to my pubic area + pubic lipo.
Answer: Mini TT or full lipo? Given your stated goals, a mini-tummy tuck will help tighten and smooth the transition from the lower abdominal skin to the pubis. In the process, the pubic area will be downsized and lifted to help with the rejuvenation. Of course, with the tension of skin removal, it can elongate the umbilicus shape, so this can be tricky balance of adequate tightening vs. elongating the umbilicus. Alternatively, given the (presumed) lack of diastasis, another good option is doing the skin excision with umbilical transposition (NOT float) which can help with the laxity above the umbilicus. This can be done with the same anesthesia as liposuction (local with oral sedation) with no drains and reasonable down time (back to work in 3-5 days). Thank you.

Answer: When to consider mini tummy tuck with umbilical float A mini tummy tuck with umbi float should be considered only when the umbilical position is high, or when the goal is to enable a full diastasis repair without a full tummy tuck. You are not a good candidate for a mini of any type because of the degree if skin laxity in your lower abdomen, but a full tummy tuck will give you a great and natural appearing result.

Answer: Considering options Based on your goals a mini tummy tuck would be an option for you. Adding some liposuction could enhance your results. Based on the photos the recommended procedure would be a standard tummy tuck, but because of your specific goals a mini tuck would suffice.

Answer: Mini TT possibility I assume this is a C section scar. It can be excised with or without liposuction of the peri umbilical area without the need to “float” your BB. You will not get the benefit of removing stretch marks or tightening the upper rectus muscles though. The incision can be kept low and the muscles below the BB can be tightened. Obviously the more you do the bigger the benefit. All the Best, Dr. J

Answer: Mini TT or full lipo Dear 40yearoldtuneup, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos and desires, it looks like you would be a good candidate for mini tummy tuck. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.
